This is an excellent opportunity for a new graduate or early-career librarian with a passion for health information and a desire to make a meaningful impact in a healthcare environment.Youll provide library services that support evidence-based practice, clinical decision-making, research and continuing education for staff, students and researchers. You will be supported by an experienced team in a collaborative and professional environment.About Northern Health:Northern Health is the major provider of acute, maternity, sub-acute, mental health, specialist, community and home-based services in Melbournes rapidly growing outer north.Services are provided through our five main campuses:Northern Hospital Epping, Broadmeadows Hospital, Bundoora Centre, Craigieburn Centre, and Kilmore District Hospital. In addition, Mental Health Services are provided at Epping, Broadmeadows, Jacana, Preston, Mill Park and Coburg.The Role:The Medical Librarian (Grade 1) makes an important contribution to the Northern Health Library Service which enables NH staff and students to easily access the high quality information required to provide outstanding clinical care and world class research. The Medical Librarian (Grade 1) is an early career librarian role that provides vital support to the NH Library and Director Library and Information Literacy Services. The role is diverse and focuses on day to day library operations using a pro-active, customer-focused approach. This includes document delivery, implementation of library plans in accordance with set strategic goals, collection management, implementation of library policies/processes and promotion of library services. The Medical Librarian (Grade 1) will help ensure library adherence to best practice is maintained.To be successful in this role you will have:Experience in a customer-service focused role (highly regarded)Knowledge of automated library systems and database search engines.Knowledge of Inter-Library Loans operationsUnderstanding of the principles and information skills related to the practice of evidence based healthcareAbility to use communication and interpersonal skills to work collaboratively in a team environment.Experience with and use of digital technologies that deliver library services and education including online collaboration and meeting technologies (ie: MS Teams)Next Steps . .If this opportunity sounds like the next step in your career, then we would love to hear from you.
