Job Description

Support Deltas Energy Markets Risk team with in-depth market risk analysis, model development, and insights to inform trading strategies.Your roleResponsibilitiesContributing to the creation of comprehensive market scenarios and energy market risk assessments, identifying emerging trends and their potential impacts on Deltas energy market activities.Conducting market risk analysis using and enhancing models such as earnings at risk, value at risk, mark to market, volumetric, and stress testing.Developing and managing market risk information systems to ensure accurate and efficient data handling.Assisting the Energy Markets team by providing in-depth risk analysis and supporting the development of trading strategies that maximise returns within defined risk limits.Performing situational analysis to gain a deeper understanding of the market forces affecting Deltas business and performance.Analysing market risks and developing models to assess price fluctuations, volume/market changes, and plant failure risks.Preparing and delivering detailed reports and dashboards, presenting modeling outcomes and insights into market risk.About youQualificationsA degree in Economics, Science, Finance, Mathematics or Engineering, or be graduating by mid 2025.Substantial knowledge and experience in statistical analysis and research techniques, including the use of research methods and the documentation and presentation of findings.Strong initiative, sound judgement, and the ability to take ownership.Excellent communication skills to clearly convey complex data insights to key stakeholders.Experience with financial modelling, forecasting, and market analysis tools (e.g., Excel, Python, SAS) is desirable.Demonstrated experience in the energy supply industry, including pricing, markets risk analysis, market rules and regulations is desirable.Compensation & benefitsCompetitive graduate salary package.Superannuation contributions.Access to employee assistance programs.Supportive and sustainable workplace environment.Opportunities for flexible work arrangements.Wellbeing initiatives and a commitment to safety.Training, development & rotationsOn-the-job training and mentoring from experienced professionals.Access to professional development programs to enhance technical and analytical skills.Opportunities to participate in industry seminars and workshops.Career progressionClear pathways for advancement within the Energy Markets Risk team and broader Delta organisation.Opportunities to move into senior analyst or specialist roles as experience is gained.Potential to develop expertise in energy trading, risk management, or market analysis.How to ApplySubmit your application as instructed in the job posting, ensuring all required documents and information are provided.This job may close before the stated closing date, you are encouraged to apply as soon as possibleReport this job #J-18808-Ljbffr
