Your actual pay will be based on your skills and experience talk with your recruiter to learn more.Base pay rangeA$139,681.00/yr - A$167,659.00/yrThe RoleAn exciting opportunity exists for a high-performing senior manager with experience in strategy consulting to drive strategic consulting projects within Defences newly established internal consulting function.As a Director within the Australian Defence Consulting (Defence Consulting) team, you will manage the delivery of end-to-end high quality strategic consulting projects that meet client needs. You will have the opportunity to shape Defences approach to internal consulting, providing thought leadership and proposing innovative ideas and solutions. You will deliver market-quality work with a Defence DNA, combining the best of private sector consulting approaches within the Defence context. This is a unique opportunity to use your consulting skills for national outcomes free from the commercial goals of private consulting.As part of the Defence Consulting management team you will be involved in developing its methods and tools, and influencing the work it does. As a Director in Defence Consulting you will be the delivery lead for engagements, defining the work plan, ensuring delivery to quality and working closely with stakeholders across the Department.You will have advanced experience in core consulting capabilities such as problem solving, logical reasoning and creative thinking, underpinned by advanced client and stakeholder engagement skills and written and verbal communication skills.A development culture is central to Defence Consulting, which is committed to building the skills and careers of our team and supporting business areas across Defence to build the capability to deliver work without the need for our support. The team is dedicated to delivering market quality consulting services and strengthen the APS-ADF workforce by building enduring capability across business areas. The team will be pivotal in enabling Defence to achieve the transformational change required to deliver the agenda outlined in the National Defence Strategy.Defence Consulting is not here to just displace private consulting support and do work which otherwise would have gone to the market. It is here to uplift capability and reduce the use of and reliance on external consulting firms where it makes sense to do so. Much of this will be achieved not just by doing projects but by enabling areas of Defence to be self-sufficient by transferring leading consulting practices and knowledge to the APS and ADF workforce.Our vision is for Defence Consulting to combine the best of private sector consulting practices with Defence expertise and culture, driven by a commitment to the mission of Defence.
