We will provide you with WFH IT equipment plus reimbursement of up to $500 for additional equipmentReward and recognition, including competitive remuneration and career progressionLearning and career development programs for all roles and levelsFlexible leave options and up to 26 weeks paid parental leaveFree daily breakfast, office drinks and social eventsGenuine commitment to health and wellbeing, pro bono and community, and diversity and inclusion across our firmLearn more about what Hall & Wilcox can offer you: bit.ly/HWbenefitsAbout The Role And TeamWe have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Risk and Compliance Advisor to join our national Legal Excellence & Risk team.The primary focus of this role is to review contracts and manage operational risk, and to support the Risk Manager, the General Counsel (GC) and the Legal Excellence & Risk (LER) team with the implementation of the firms legal excellence and risk management framework.You will be responsible for:assisting to identify, describe and estimate the risks (both new and existing) affecting the firm;reviewing compliance by legal teams with the firms legal excellence and risk management policies and procedures, including by conducting regular file audits and reporting back to firm management and the Risk Committee on the key results and themes;reviewing clients terms of engagement for external legal suppliers and other third party contracts;managing legal and operation issues relating to tenders including insurance related queries;assisting team members to manage the firms engagement agreements, including updating the appointment terms and providing or assisting with training as required;assisting with general day to day risk management activities, such as conflict assessment and management of the firms privacy obligations, the preparation and presentation of risk management and compliance training, policy creation, and the creation and maintenance of risk management registers;assisting with the conduct of privacy impact assessments and AI risk assessments;support the development and implementation of the firms AML/CTF program;assisting team members and the Information Security Manager to develop and maintain the firms cyber security risk management framework and assisting in managing the firms response to any cyber security incidents; andensuring continuous review and improvement of operational risk policies and procedures.About YouYou will ideally have the following skills and experience:legal qualification and experience;knowledge of risk management processes and principles and experience with risk registers and liaising with senior management risk owners;risk management, compliance, AML or auditing qualification is desirable;experience in using document management system (eg iManage10);strong analytical and problem-solving skills;excellent written and verbal communication skills;highly organised, able to work under pressure to strict deadlines and maintain strong attention to detail;ability to show initiative and work independently, as well as part of a team; andability to build strong working relationships with people at all levels.About UsHall & Wilcox is a leading independent Australian law firm.
