About the Role: Cyber Security NSW is looking for a Cyber Security Analyst to join the Operational & Advisory Team in Sydney on a two-year contract. We are looking for candidates with strong organisational and analytical skills to coordinate and support cyber security initiatives and commitments. Key Accountabilities: Contribute technical expertise and knowledge to report on current and emerging cyber security risks and trends. Support the development of best practice, technical cyber security advice within relevant strategies, programs, and policies across the NSW Government to ensure a continuous and timely response to evolving cyber threats Conduct research, planning, and product development using a risk-based approach to create guidance that proactively supports NSW departments, agencies, and local councils in building cyber resilience Identify, interpret, and analyse data using linking and statistical techniques to identify trends and patterns in data sets, and create inferences or insights. Produce reports, briefings, visualisations, and recommendations to advise Senior Leaders on supporting cyber security initiatives and service delivery. Build and maintain productive relationships with stakeholders through consultation and responsive advice, ensuring cyber security guidance aligns with their needs Coordinate information collection for reporting, monitoring, and evaluation purposes to contribute to the achievement of Branch outcomes. Support the continuous improvement of NSW Cyber Security Policy reporting to enable data driven prioritisation of cyber security uplift initiatives across the sector. Support the continuous improvement and management of technology platforms used by the team including our reporting portal, JIRA, Confluence, and Salesforce CRM About Cyber Security NSW Branch: The Cyber Security NSW is a whole-of-government function located within Digital.NSW in the Department of Customer Service. We are responsible for ensuring a cyber safe NSW. The protection of our systems and digital information is vital because of the many essential services NSW Government provides including health, emergency services, and transport. Furthermore, the exciting digital transformation being undertaken across NSW Government requires similarly enhanced cyber security capabilities.At the centre of this exciting and growing cyber capability, Cyber Security NSW is working across NSW Government to: Create a whole-of-government integrated approach to managing cyber risk and responding to cyber security threats Increase cyber skills and awareness Understand the risks from cyber threats to our digital information and systems Set cyber security standards Ensure we are prepared if a damaging cyber incident occursAbout You (Essential Requirements of the Role): To be successful in the role you will: Be reliable, flexible, and have a positive work ethic. Enjoy contributing ideas and working in multidisciplinary teams. Proactively manage your own workload and tasks. Have excellent organizational skills and experience in managing multiple small projects. Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills, including being able to communicate technical and/or strategic policy issues and advice to a wide range of stakeholders. Be adept at building and maintaining stakeholder relationships and presenting insights for strategic decision-making. Have experience in research and proficiency with analysis tools like SPSS , Advanced Excel (Power Query), Tableau or Power BI. Possess data visualization skills for creating interactive dashboards and reports. Have experience with Jira and Confluence administration and Salesforce CRM. Have experience of undertaking basic risk management activities. Hold appropriate tertiary qualifications or equivalent professional experience in cyber security, information security, risk management, digital, or ICT. Previous public sector experience is highly regarded. Be an Australian Citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain a Baseline National Security Clearance and pass a police check.Working at DCS The Department of Customer Service (DCS) is a great place to work!
