Every Patient Matters.Job DescriptionAn exciting opportunity presents as Epworth Freemasons seeks a Nurse Practitioner to support our Oncology services. This role will complement excellence in patient-centred care in the Oncology ward and day units, working closely with our medical, nursing and broader multidisciplinary and leadership teams.The Nurse Practitioner will work collaboratively with the medical and nursing team to provide holistic care and coordination for patients and their families. This includes patient assessment, diagnosis, treatment and prescription of medications, all within scope of practice of the Nurse Practitioner. The Nurse Practitioner role is pivotal in the coordination and management of the physical and psychosocial needs of patients with cancer and their families who are undergoing inpatient and outpatient treatment at Epworth HealthCare.Whilst being autonomous, the Oncology Nurse Practitioner shall be aware of their scope of practice and work collaboratively in an advanced and extended clinical role, and will have an important educational role within the inter-disciplinary teams.The role will contribute to ongoing service improvement through clinical and workforce innovation, to provide high quality and accessible cancer care for the community.You will make an impact by:Working collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team to provide holistic and high-quality care to specific patient groups.Performing patient assessment, diagnosis and treatment including prescribing medications, and ordering diagnostic investigations.Ordering diagnostic investigations, admitting and discharging patients, as authorised within the context of practice.Complementing care provided by other healthcare professionals, enhancing the overall patient care experience.Driving ongoing service improvement, clinical innovation, and workforce development to ensure high-quality, accessible care within allocated resources.Supporting continuous improvement of patient flow and workload management, contributing to efficient healthcare delivery.Promoting nurse practitioner (NP) models, recognised for improving patient outcomes and care efficiency.To be successful in this role you will demonstrate the followingRegistration with the AHPRA as a Registered NurseNursing Midwifery Board (NMBA) approved Nurse Practitioner qualification at Master''s Level or equivalentMinimum 3 years recent experience in advanced nursing role and 5 years experience in Cancer NursingNurse Practitioner Medicare provider number and Prescriber number (desirable)Demonstrated clinical expertise in clinical advancements particularly in the speciality of Oncology and Haematology Nursing in collaboration with nursing, medical and allied health teamsExcellent interpersonal and leadership skills that inspire trust and confidence and build strong relationships with patients, their families, Visiting Medical Officers, nursing teams and other key internal & external stakeholdersDemonstrated ability to build strong relationships to work collaboratively with peers and superiors, and to contribute to organisation-wide improvement and growthDemonstrated willingness to teach undergraduate & postgraduate nurses, other health professionals, patients, families and groupDemonstrated ability in establishing pathways for cancer care symptom management and new patient models of carePosition Description Inherent RequirementsAbout FreemasonsLocated in East Melbourne, close to public transport and the CBD, Epworth Freemasons provides a range of world-class health services.
