CCNSW were here for meaningful careers that feel good.About The TeamThe Cancer Information and Support Services (CISS) Division aims to empower and support people affected by cancer, so that no-one needs to face cancer alone. This Division assists people as they navigate the cancer journey, easing their emotional and practical burdens and helping them make informed decisions.Key change priorities of the current CCNSW 5-year strategic Plan are to improve the lives of cancer survivors, grow our impact in areas of greatest need, and to work with the community for better outcomes. Aligning with the Strategy, CISS will have an evolving focus on cancer survivorship care, that is, care in the period following initial treatment for cancer, alongside improving equity in cancer outcomes.About The RoleThe Project Specialist, CISS, plays a key role in supporting the successful delivery of strategic projects led by the CISS division. Working closely with the Program Manager, CISS Projects, this role will support the delivery of various initiatives, and take the lead on two strategic projects:Enhancing CISS services to be more culturally and community responsive.Developing a Culturally Responsive Framework for CCNSW, a key action for the CCNSW Reconciliation Action Plan.This position contributes to the broader strategic goal of improving equity in cancer outcomes.This is a full-time 12-month contract and is based in our Woolloomooloo office.Key Responsibilities Of The RoleLead the delivery of two key projects:CISS service enhancement for cultural and community responsivenessA culturally Responsive Framework for CCNSW, in collaboration with an Aboriginal-led consulting agency and the CCSNW Reconciliation Action Plan Working Group.Collaborate with the Program Manager, CISS Projects, to develop and deliver project outputs in line with agreed scope, quality, and timelines.Prepare and maintain high-quality project documentation, including project plans, scopes, timelines, communication plans, presentations, and reports.Coordinate and support other strategic projects as required by the Program Manager or CISS Divisional Leadership Team.Engage and consult with internal and external stakeholders to ensure alignment with project objectives and address emerging needs.Identify project risks and develop mitigation strategies to ensure successful outcomes.Any other duties that may be required to meet the needs of the organisation.EssentialAbout youDemonstrated experience in managing and delivering complex projects, including planning, design, and implementation.Proficiency in project management tools and methodologies.Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills, with the ability to synthesise information, explore problems and develop solutions.Proven ability to engage and collaborate with diverse stakeholders to achieve shared outcomes.Ability to work independently and as part of a high-performing team.Excellent verbal and written communication, with the ability to effectively convey project goals, progress, and outcomes to diverse audiences.Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build trusted relationships.Flexibility and adaptability in response to changing priorities and project needs.DesirableExperience working with diverse cultural groups, including First Nations and/or culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) communities, and building strong community relationships.Experience in identifying and implementing strategies to improve service delivery, in particular increasing accessibility and improving responsiveness for priority populations identified in the Australian and NSW Cancer Plans.Strong analytical skills to assess community needs and develop innovative solutions to improve service delivery.Basic understanding of oncology, cancer services, and the needs of people affected by cancer.Working knowledge/experience of the not-for-profit sector.About The BenefitsGenerous salary packaging options that can increase your take home pay by paying certain expenses using pre-tax dollars up to $15,900 a year.Recognised for Voice Projects 2021 and 2023 Best Workplace Award.A balanced organisational approach to WFH and office.Additional performance-based leave available.Work for purpose and know that your work fosters an engaged, diverse, and culturally aware organisation.Discounts available for everyday expenses such as private health, retail, and fitness.CCNSW is an inclusive place to volunteer and work.
