In its establishment phase, we are looking for outstanding individuals to embed robust systems and processes, deliver exciting and diverse projects and demonstrate innovation and commitment to integrity in the public service.NACC staff work in a complex and dynamic setting where exceptional judgement and an ability to achieve results is critical.Successful candidates will have the ability to cooperate, manage, lead and perform successfully across corporate and operational functions.About this opportunityThe NACC has a Senior ICT Security Officer position available for immediate filling in Brisbane, Canberra, Melbourne, Perth or Sydney. A merit list will be established to fill vacancies arising in the next 18 months.We currently have offices in Brisbane, Canberra, Melbourne and Sydney, and are in the process of securing an office in Perth.Successful applicants in Perth will need to work remotely until our new offices are open at which time they will be expected to attend the office on a regular basis.About the roleThe Senior ICT Security Officer is a hands-on technical role. The role is responsible for developing, implementing, leading, and managing information security programs to protect the Commissions data and systems from cyber threats in accordance with the Information Security Manual (ISM), Protective Security Policy Framework (PSPF) and The Essential 8.The position is responsible for a wide range of tasks, including providing security advice, undertaking security compliance assessments, monitoring and maintaining security systems, security risk assessments, threat assessments, incident response, security policy development, and delivering security awareness training.The position requires close collaboration with ICT project teams, the Security team, the Cloud Environment team, Business and Operational stakeholders, and Managed Service Providers to assist in maintaining and bolstering a strong security posture for the Commission.Key activitiesProvide and articulate technical and security advice for projects, new technologies, and daily operations.Review our systems and controls to ensure optimal operation and security standards are met.Conduct security risk assessments to pinpoint critical data, threats, vulnerabilities and system weaknesses.Develop and maintain security policies that aligns with the Commissions objectives and regulations.Support and assist the ICT Security Manager with diverse security activities.Manage and improve the Commissions security operation activities and monitoring of systems.Oversee and assist IT in resolving security incidents and removing threats.Provide relevant security awareness and education, adapted for different stakeholder needs.Foster strong working relationships with project teams, business units, and vendors.Ensuring the Commission complies with relevant government frameworks, programs, and policies.Practical experience in applying controls and principles outlined in the ISM, Essential 8 and the PSPF Protective Security Policy Framework.Proven experience in assessing, conducting, and managing security risk assessments within government ICT systems.A strong understanding of Microsoft Azure and Microsoft tool suite.Location: Brisbane, Canberra, Melbourne, Perth or SydneySalary: $94,563 - $106,769Classification: APS6The National Anti-Corruption CommissionThe National Anti-Corruption Commission enhances integrity in the Commonwealth public sector by deterring, detecting and preventing corrupt conduct involving Commonwealth public officials. The occupant of this position will be required to undergo and maintain a security clearance to Negative Vetting 1.Suitability assessment - the NACC must be satisfied that successful applicants are of suitable character. They must undergo a rigorous pre-employment suitability screening process that can be intrusive in nature including (but is not limited to) detailed background, character, employment, police and financial checks.Probation - a probation period will apply to a new ongoing engagement in the Australian Public Service.
