About The Position Seeking an inspiring leader to oversee and mentor a team delivering environmental management of Councils natural assets. The role focuses on fostering a collaborative environment to improve biodiversity outcomes. Responsibilities include: Developing and implementing operational and capital works programs aligned with Councils Environmental Sustainability Strategy and other organisational goals. Providing strong leadership to motivate the Bushland & Wetlands team. Promoting the benefits of natural assets to diverse stakeholders. Skills And Experience Ideal candidates are proactive leaders experienced in managing staff, contractors, and volunteers to enhance biodiversity, with a passion for conservation and a thorough knowledge of plant ecology and vegetation management. Requirements Relevant tertiary qualification or substantial experience in conservation or natural resource management. Experience in leading teams, community engagement, contract management, and compliance. Current Victorian drivers license, Working With Children Check, National Police Check, and Right to Work in Australia.
