successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing complex fire door installation projects from conception to completion, ensuring full compliance with Australian Standards AS 1905.1 and AS1530.4, while managing site teams and coordinating with multiple stakeholders across large-scale commercial and industrial developments.Key ResponsibilitiesProject Management & CoordinationLead and manage large-scale fire door installation projects from initial planning through to final handover.Develop comprehensive project schedules, resource allocation plans, and milestone tracking systems.Coordinate with architects, engineers, contractors, and regulatory authorities to ensure seamless project delivery.Manage project budgets, cost controls, and procurement processes for fire door packages.Conduct regular site inspections and progress reviews to ensure quality standards are maintained and timelines are adhered to.Prepare detailed project reports, documentation, and compliance records for client presentation.Technical Expertise & ComplianceDemonstrate a comprehensive understanding of Australian Standard AS 1905.1:2015 - Components for the protection of openings in fire-resistant walls (Fire-resistant doorsets)Apply detailed knowledge of AS1530.4:2014 - Methods for fire tests on building materials, components and structures (Fire-resistance tests for elements of construction)Ensure that all fire door installations meet the Building Code of Australia (BCA) requirements and the National Construction Code (NCC) specifications.Interpret and implement fire resistance level (FRL) requirements and fire resistance rating (FRR) specifications.Oversee compliance with temperature rise requirements, smoke and draft control standards, and structural adequacy criteria.Frame Schedule Compilation & ManagementCompile comprehensive frame schedules detailing door specifications, hardware requirements, and installation sequences.Coordinate frame schedule reviews with design teams to ensure the accuracy of door types, ratings, and hardware specifications.Manage frame schedule revisions and updates throughout the project lifecycle.Ensure frame schedules align with architectural drawings, fire safety plans, and regulatory requirements.Maintain detailed records of frame modifications, substitutions, and variations per compliance requirements.Hardware Compliance & SpecificationSpecify and procure fire door hardware in accordance with AS 1905.1 requirements and manufacturer specifications.Ensure hardware compatibility with door ratings, including hinges, closers, latching mechanisms, and sealing systems.Coordinate hardware installation with certified technicians and ensure proper adjustment and testing.Maintain hardware compliance documentation and certification records.Manage hardware warranty claims and replacement schedules.Site Team ManagementLead and supervise carpentry teams, subcontractors, and specialist fire door installers.Conduct regular toolbox talks and safety briefings that focus on best practices for installing fire doors.Provide technical guidance and training to site personnel on the compliance requirements of AS 1905.1 and AS 1530.4.Implement quality control procedures and inspection protocols for all fire door installations.Coordinate with other trades to ensure proper sequencing and integration of fire door systems.Essential RequirementsExperience & QualificationsMinimum 5 years of experience in carpentry project management with a specific focus on fire door installations.Demonstrated experience managing large-scale fire door packages (minimum 100+ doors per project).Proven track record of successful project delivery within budget and timeline constraints.Trade qualification in carpentry or equivalent technical certification.Current Construction Induction (White Card) and relevant safety certifications.Technical KnowledgeComprehensive understanding of AS 1905.1:2015 requirements, including:Fire Door Construction Standards and Installation Specifications.Frame Anchoring Systems and Wall Integration Requirements.Clearance specifications and operational parameters.Labelling/Taggingand certification requirementsDetailed knowledge of AS1530.4:2014 testing protocols, including:Fire resistance testing procedures and criteria.Temperature rise limitations and measurement protocols.Structural adequacy requirements during fire exposure.Insulation and integrity performance standards.Project Management SkillsProficiency in project management software.Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple concurrent projects.Excellent communication skills for engaging stakeholders and
