The Commercial and Contracts Manager will work within program and project management functions and act as the point of contact (internal and external) for all contract, pricing and commercial management enquiries.The role will also support wider commercial, contracting, pricing, sales, procurement, tendering, forecasting, strategy and business development activities.The position will be supported by internal stakeholders and resources providing support functions within the program and project teams and wider business structures.Major ResponsibilitiesTreat Safety, Environmental and Health compliance as a top priority.Minimise risk, optimise outcomes and support excellence in service delivery by ensuring contract compliance and policy alignment for all Government contracts and engagements, including pricing, billing, reporting and change management.Core Responsibilities:Establish effective process controls across multiple programs and clients that meet specific contract and corporate requirements.Work with finance and project/ program managers to ensure contract compliant pricing and billing of customer accounts.Ensure that all contracts are managed proactively and to best industry practice/ client expectations.Oversee all contract pricing (including S&Qs), variations and change management.Act as the client and internal point of contact for contract variations, amendments, pricing and billing enquiries.Establish effective project cost control mechanisms, tools and practices to manage contract expenditure, forecasting and reporting.Work with internal stakeholders to develop and implement business performance strategies aimed at improving operational, financial and business performance outcomes in line with business objectives.Support Vessel Managers / Project Managers with Contract profitability reviews and contributing to the company financial performance reviews.Review contract performance and KPI reports and ensure effective feedback from Operations Team is provided on regular basis.Undertake contractual and financial analysis and/or develop scenario modelling related to contract or program activitiesSupport tendering, pricing and procurement activities where required across the business as well as ad-hoc forecasting, financial analysis, business development and the production of business cases.Achieve program outcomes by using effective communication, negotiation and persuasion to coordinate project stakeholders, clients, staff and sub-contractors at all levels.Work to best industry practices, develop and implement commercial and contract management processes, policies and procedures for the business, including those ensuring contractual records are maintained.Effective management of the contract lifecycle including initiation, execution, performance and close out.Requirements (Knowledge, Skill and Abilities):A tertiary qualification in Law, Commerce or Business Administration or relevant experience in a commercial/contract management/legal environment.Strong written, verbal and numerical communication skills, with the ability to build effective relationships between team members, stakeholders and clients.5-10 years in contract & commercial management roles with significant exposure to AUSDEFCON and Australian Government contracting.Sound commercial, financial, business and strategic acumen.Experience in pricing, estimating and procurement.Ability to conduct financial analysis, forecasting and create business cases/ reports.Demonstrated experience developing and negotiating head contracts or contract terms.A current NV1 Australian Government Security Clearance or be eligible/willing to obtain thisCommercial shipping, ship repair, maritime sustainment background.Extensive experience in procurement and supplier contract management, including an ability to navigate through complex contract documents and interpret complex contractual and legislative requirements, with an understanding of commercial drivers and impacts.AUSDEFCON or large commercial tendering experience.Experienced ability to conduct financial analysis, forecasting and create business cases/ reports.Experience in businesses with diverse client and contract requirements.Experience in a leadership position.If you meet all the above criteria and would like to be a part of this exciting opportunity, please click the APPLY button below and submit an up-to-date resume.To be considered for this position, candidatesmust haveprevious experience and Australian citizenship.Unlock job insightsSalary match Number of applicants Skills matchYour application will include the following questions:How many years'' experience do you have with forecasting for businesses?
