Its why our people stick around, whether you live in the city or across regional and rural Victoria, were doing the work where it matters most right in your own community.As Victorians electrify everything from homes to transport, were focused on ensuring our networks are ready to meet that demand.If you want to be part of something essential, be essential with us.About the Role:We are looking for an energetic economics or policy professional to join our Regulation team as a Senior Regulatory Analyst in a full time and permanent role based at our CBD Head Office.This role is responsible for developing regulatory advice and investment proposals relating to economic regulatory matters, and will involve engaging with key bodies including the Australian Energy Regulator, Essential Services Commission, Australian Energy Market Commission and Federal or State government departments. Our regulatory strategies will bring together commercial, customer and policy objectives at a time when the energy landscape and associated economic framework are rapidly transforming.As part of the broader Regulation team you will work on our ongoing five-year regulated revenue setting project, including preparing analysis on how the distribution network should adapt to accommodate the impacts of climate change, customer energy resources, electrification, and the energy market transition.To be successful, you will be confident engaging with key stakeholders, collaborating with subject matter experts, and be able to articulate key economic regulatory matters and policy positions in a succinct and practical manner.The role is advertised as a full-time opportunity, however, we would be open to a part time arrangements for suitable candidates.What youll deliver:Develop strategies and for the five-yearly revenue setting project, as well as drafting of regulatory proposals, preparation of costs and benefits, business cases and other supporting evidenceConduct research, analyse and advise on key developments and changes in the energy environmentAnalyse the economic and commercial impacts of proposed changes in the regulatory framework and/or guidelines governing the electricity distribution industryDevelop regulatory advice, including preparation of submissions and supporting evidence for both internal and external stakeholdersEngage effectively with internal and external stakeholders in a range of settings, including reviews and forums for industry bodiesBuild and maintain strong relationships across internal teams, industry bodies, and regulatorsYou dont need to check every box, however to succeed in this role youll have a combination of:A tertiary qualification in economics, public policy or other relevant field (required)Demonstrated knowledge of regulatory frameworks and/or energy policyKnowledge and experience in applying economic concepts and principlesStrong quantitative analysis skillsAn ability to undertake structured and strategic thinkingExcellent written and verbal communication skillsPrior experience working in a regulator, government, economic consultancy or in a business subject to regulatory oversight is highly regardedYour career with us:We have a diversity of teams across our business, all contributing to great customer and community outcomes.
