Our Financial Services client is looking for a seasoned Mainframe Security Consultant with a background in Systems Programming for a permanent role. This will be based in Melbourne, Victoria, likely requiring full-time presence in the office, however, a hybrid arrangement for 2 days per week working from home may be negotiable over time.Note - LOOKING FOR A TREE CHANGE & SUNSHINE:Ideal candidates are from Australia, HOWEVER the role is open to US, UK, and European nationals.Relocation to Melbourne, Australia, and Visa Sponsorship can be discussed for the right candidate.Remote working, on contract, will be considered during onboarding and sponsorship process.Only applicants with the requisite skills and experience defined below need to apply - we are NOT LOOKING for Mainframe Programmers/Developers.Role Purpose:The successful candidate will be required to provide security technology-based services including strategy, design, development, delivery, and maintenance of technological solutions to meet business needs.Key competencies & experience:7+ years relevant business and Mainframe experienceSound knowledge of the Technology Industry10+ years experience in a Security Analyst role (Mainframe - RACF)Advanced - RACF Security ExpertiseAdvanced - JCL (Job Control Language) coding experienceAdvanced - SAS (Statistical Analysis System) programming expertiseISPF and ISPF Dialogue Management ServicesSDSF (Spool Display Search Facility)Programming experience in one or more disciplines (including: Python, Assembler, PL1, and Cobol)Key non-technical capabilities:Tertiary qualification in a Technology discipline or related field, highly desirableKnowledge of the Banking IndustryAudit, Risk, Controls Background / exposureAbility to build effective relationships and enable successful implementation of technical strategiesUse technical expertise and judgment to define and implement solutions to support business needsProvide services to support, guide, and assure design of solutions in line with strategiesConfer with systems users to develop change requirements for greater efficiency, systems integration, or cost reductionSupport project goals by providing expertise and technical assurance for key system componentsDevelop technical evaluations of products, tools, techniques, and methods to meet business needsProvide technical input to design specifications and offer consultative guidanceDevelop/create technical strategiesContribute to project work and support delivery of initiativesAssess the impact of technology change and operations on IT systemsSound understanding of risk management, controls, and proceduresStrong knowledge of policies, regulations, and obligations within technology and business operationsAbility to multitaskFocus on quality and detailExcellent verbal, written/documentation, presentation skills, and stakeholder managementNotes:Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.Start date is likely around August 2025.Attractive salary package on offer, depending on skills and experience.If you feel this opportunity is for you, then please press "Apply" now --> #J-18808-Ljbffr
