In our CFCs - together with the proprietary software applications - we operate a world-class online grocery business that automates the single pick of products, ready for your online delivery via our local partner Coles.About The RoleJoin the team to support our Customer Fulfilment Centre in Wetherill Park, NSW, Australia.The Controls and Automation Specialist provides front line support related to the continuous operation of site material handling equipment (MHE). Work may range between electrical wiring faults, communications issues, database and reporting needs through to detailed analysis of different types of programmable logic controller software. The position will also be required to support continuous improvement initiatives and carry out planned and reactive maintenance activities on MHE. Some examples of MHE include; bots, tote and product handling equipment, associated conveyor networks.The role is shift based and will report to the respective Engineering Team Manager. The role has a dotted line to the Lead Automation Engineer who shall provide technical direction and support when required. The role is a shift position that will require working days, nights and weekends. Flexibility in working hours is also necessary to support Ocados 24/7 operation.Key CustomersSenior Engineering Operations ManagerEngineering Team ManagerLead Automation EngineerTeam LeaderTechniciansRoles & ResponsibilitiesCarrying out planned maintenance across the site in an accurate, timely and safe manner ensuring maintenance procedures arefollowedRemotely supporting partner sites using phone and other company communications tools.Update records of work activities, tasks carried out, parts used through stores and training givenWork closely with manufacturers, suppliers and internal departments in finding ways to improve process and increasemachine reliability and performanceRespond to and diagnose equipment breakdowns, resolving issues and action repairsAnalyse data to find solutions to improve MHE performance, providing reports where necessaryComplete quality inspections to ensure work is completed to a safe standardWork to and follow Health and Safety policies including those set by Ocado, Coles and Australian regulatory standards. To seekguidance from the HS&E team where there is uncertainty.You may be asked to perform tasks as required by management deemed as a reasonable request.
