Executive Manager (FSPRI) Training and DevelopmentQueensland Fire DepartmentWhyte IslandThe Training and Capability Branch leads an agile volunteer and staff development framework, coupled with delivery of strategic planning and innovative capability enhancement initiatives, to promote service delivery excellence. The Training and Development unit, comprising operational and non-operational staff within four teamsstaff development, volunteer training development, volunteer training delivery, and resource developmentoversees the operationalisation of a coordinated response to volunteer training and staff development.Purpose of the roleReporting to the Assistant Chief Officer, you will support and enhance the experience of volunteers through the development, implementation, and delivery of programs and frameworks to support best practice operational training for RFSQ volunteers and staff. You will lead and manage the team functions, working closely with internal and external stakeholders, including Operational Training Managers in districts and Planning and Performance Managers in regions. Your focus will be on developing innovative learning programs and products suitable for both volunteers and staff, emphasizing flexible learning strategies, self-directed learning, eLearning, and distance learning to build capability and improve regional operations and service delivery.Mandatory requirementsMust meet the mandatory requirements outlined in the generic Superintendent role description.Highly desirable requirementsDemonstrated ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders from rural and remote communities.Knowledge, experience, and/or qualifications in vocational education and training.Primary dutiesThis role complements the generic RFSQ Superintendent role description, focusing on:- Leading development of the volunteer training strategy to operationalise the Rural Fire Development Framework and overseeing evaluation activities.- Ensuring volunteer training frameworks and curricula are fit-for-purpose, increasing bushfire management and operational response capabilities across the state.- Providing strategic expertise in staff development frameworks and programs to enhance bushfire management capabilities.- Reviewing and finalising annual training and capability plans to meet statewide training requirements.- Overseeing development and evaluation of assurance, compliance, and evaluation frameworks for training programs.- Consulting with public and private sector providers for member development programs meeting national standards.- Advising senior executives on training and development matters to promote best practices.Additional informationApplicants most suitable will hold the rank of substantive Superintendent, RFSQ, though Inspectors with relevant skills are encouraged to apply.Volunteers and external parties with appropriate skills are encouraged to apply and may need to provide additional information.Travel within the area of responsibility and interstate deployment may be required.Flexible working hours, including some night and weekend work, may be necessary.Participation in a personal professional development program is mandatory.Applicants will undertake regular training within the Queensland Disaster Management Arrangements framework.Further informationWe are committed to building inclusive cultures in the Queensland public sector that respect and promote human rights and diversity.DocumentsPlease read the relevant documents before applying, including guidelines on keyword searches, exact phrase searches, location, occupational group, and salary details. #J-18808-Ljbffr
