This sense of camaraderie and cross-disciplinary expertise spurs drive and commitment to the growth of our business.Position SummaryReporting to the Head of Technology, the Senior Manager Energy Retail Systems is responsible for implementing and supporting the IT systems for the Energy Retail Business to enable effective and efficient business operations.This position is a customer facing role and requires that you establish and manage expectations of the business and engage and drive peers within the IT team, as well as external service providers, to achieve those expectations to the highest possible standards.You will manage and deliver programs of technology that will both enable and transform the way Squadron Energy executes on growth plans. This role will contribute to IT Architecture, Business Strategy, and the evolution of the IT operating model.Comfort working with ambiguity in a fast paced and constantly evolving environment will also be required.This role may involve travel to other office locations and sites to engage and liaise with broader business teams and relevant stakeholders.Key ResponsibilitiesEnergy Retail SolutionsLead design and delivery of strategic capability and systems build to establish and operate an Energy Retail business.Partner with customer and delivery teams to define the technology roadmap, including defining and executing with a Build and Grow philosophy.Capture the critical capability gaps and work with the appropriate teams to implement solutions to fill those gaps.Identify, assess, and promote leverage of existing technologies and the use of new technologies for close gaps, increased productivity or promote new capabilities that support business priorities.Solution Evaluation and SelectionEvaluate and recommend technology solutions, platforms, and vendors to meet the energy retail business requirements.Conduct cost-benefit analysis, risk assessments, and feasibility studies to support decision-making.Collaborate with procurement and vendor management teams to negotiate contracts and manage vendor relationships.Project DeliverySupport delivery of key technology projects such as CRM, Billing, Pricing, ETRM and CybersecurityMaintain a focus on end user experience, whilst enabling efficiency and effectiveness of the business using innovative solution design thinkingEngage with both in-house and vendor delivery teams to ensure outcomes are delivered in accordance with the agreed project and program plans.Own the solution agenda through assuming full program management responsibility for key initiatives.Oversee project managers and other team members as requiredStakeholder Engagement and CommunicationCollaborate with business stakeholders to understand their technology needs and align IT systems accordingly.Communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders, ensuring a shared understanding of IT initiatives and benefits.Foster strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, promoting collaboration and engagement.Contribute ideas and role model behaviour that supports ITs development into a high performing team.Source and induct talent to position IT to deliver for our customers, both direct hires and vendorsWork collaboratively as a member of the IT leadership team, coach, mentor and develop team members as required.Actively contribute to the evolving IT strategy, architecture principles and operating modelSkills and experience:Experience and knowledge10+ years experience working in Information Technology with at least 5 years experience in a team leadership role.3-5 years experience of project/program leadership, including experience managing multiple parallel programs or projects.Experience with energy retail IT systems, including CRM, Billing, Pricing & ETRM systems.Experience with Gas systems is advantageous.Experience of IT service management, service delivery and ITIL processes.Experience building strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.Experience building and executing technology strategies, with a demonstrated ability to convert business outcomes into technical enablers.SkillsStrategic thinker with a deep understanding of technology including emerging trends and innovative technologies.Ability to present complex technical concepts to business leaders.Demonstrated expertise in leading the development and execution of technology roadmaps.Expertise in leading project delivery through 3rd parties and internal resourcesAbility to keep pace with changing technologies.Strong people skills, with an emphasis on the ability to effectively influence others.A team-focused mentality with the proven ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.Proactive and innovative, continuously seeking improvements and efficiencies.Detail-oriented with strong analytical and organizational skills.Ability to handle multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.Highly self-motivated, directed, and change oriented.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.QualificationsBachelors degree in business information systems (IS), computer science, or related field, or equivalent related IT experience.ITIL framework training.Project Management training, such as PMI, Prince2 or Agile.Exposure to architecture processes or frameworks an advantage.To ApplySquadron Energy is committed to fostering a diverse and inclusive workplace.
