We are currently seeking a Senior Engineering Manager to lead the technical delivery of a major Prison Infrastructure Project in New Zealand during its tender phase. This is a critical leadership role for professionals with proven experience in secure infrastructure projects within the region.Role SummaryAs Senior Engineering Manager, you will oversee all engineering-related activities during the competitive bidding process for a large-scale correctional facility. You will coordinate multidisciplinary design teams, ensure full compliance with regulatory standards, and serve as a key technical liaison with all project stakeholders.Key ResponsibilitiesLead engineering strategy, planning, and coordination during the tender phase.Ensure compliance with correctional design standards, building codes, and security regulations.Coordinate with external consultants across architectural, structural, and MEP disciplines.Conduct technical reviews and implement risk mitigation strategies aligned with prison-specific needs.Drive value engineering initiatives that preserve safety and functionality.Engage with government stakeholders to ensure technical proposals meet operational expectations.Mentor junior engineers in secure design practices and compliance requirements.RequirementsEssential QualificationsDegree in Civil Engineering or related field.Minimum 5 years of experience in infrastructure projects in Australia or New Zealand.At least 3 years of experience specifically in prison, detention, or secure infrastructure.Strong background managing design and technical coordination during tender/bid phases.Knowledge of structural containment, secure MEP systems, and security-focused architectural elements.Ideal Candidate ProfileDemonstrated expertise in secure public infrastructure projects.Skilled in managing complex engineering packages and consultant teams.Comfortable interacting with high-level stakeholders and government entities.What We OfferTwo weeks of hotel accommodation at project startTravel expenses at start and end of projectHealth insuranceLaptop and phone providedWork schedule: Monday to Friday (office hours)Note: The description and conditions indicated here are intended to describe the general nature of the work performed by employees but do not constitute a complete list of responsibilities, duties, and general competencies required by the staff.
