We recognise and reward high performance and have outstanding employee benefits including a week of shutdown leave, paid parental leave, extra-long service leave, together with various ongoing learning and professional development opportunities.Employees covered by our Enterprise Agreement, will also enjoy access to additional paid service leave, a confirmed 1 July salary increase, an annual wellness reimbursement, career development opportunities, and much more.What are we looking for?Our National Abuse Law team in Victoria is looking for passionate and experienced Lawyer to join the team.The ideal candidate would have prior experience in plaintiff law, however, we are open to consider all candidates with demonstrated experience in the field.This rare and exciting opportunity is now available for a proactive, passionate and results driven Lawyer who will specialise or are keen to specialise in abuse matters.You will be working with some amazing likeminded individuals who are incredibly passionate about advocating for victims of abuse.Our abuse lawyers and support staff assist clients who may have had to deal with sexual assaults or sexual abuse (including historical trauma such as childhood abuse).Your responsibilities will includeInstrumental in managing an Abuse practice and carry a file load.Preparing court documents and briefs to counsel.Attending, appearing, and instructing in litigated matters.Continually exploring new opportunities for your practice and developing new business.Maintaining strong client relationships.Exceptional negotiation skills and an ability to communicate effectively.Demonstrated skills in effective network and relationship management.Ability to exercise judgement and resolve problems expeditiously.What will you bring?You will be a committed and enthusiastic individual who possesses the followingDemonstrated experience in abuse law or public liability is ideal, however, we''re open to candidates who have been practising in personal injury and have a genuine interest in the abuse law space.Superior communication skills, both written and verbal.Exceptional research, analytical, and problem-solving skills.A calm and easy-going nature.Ability to work autonomously as well as part of a team.Ability to handle sensitive issues and challenging issues.Ability to exercise judgement and resolve problems expeditiouslyDemonstrated skills in effective network and relationship management.What next?If you are interested in this opportunity, please apply directly to Slater and Gordon.
