Their decision to retire marks the end of a valued chapter, and the beginning of a new one for a leader ready to step in and make their mark. Like many at Atlas, the outgoing manager made PNG their long-term home, building a life and career with the organisation a testament to the enduring appeal of both Atlas and the country.This pivotal leadership role will see you overseeing a multifaceted branch that includes fabrication, reinforcing, roll-forming, fencing, and modular housing. Reporting directly to the General Manager, youll join a close-knit senior team and take full accountability for branch performance, staff leadership, customer satisfaction, and strategic growth.What to Expect in Your First WeeksYour onboarding will include a structured transition period, working closely alongside the outgoing Branch Manager to absorb key operational knowledge, team insight, and business priorities. This allows for a seamless handover and an opportunity to shape the branch with your own leadership style and vision.Key responsibilities include:Taking ownership of day-to-day branch operations and performance outcomesGuiding multidisciplinary teams across manufacturing, construction, and supplyManaging budgets and commercial targets with a focus on efficiencyEnsuring quality delivery across both product and project timelinesBuilding strong relationships with clients and key local stakeholdersDriving staff development, operational safety, and long-term leadership planningThe Experience That Sets You ApartTo qualify, you will need a Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Engineering, or a related discipline, and 57 years of experience in operations or branch management, ideally within the steel, construction, or manufacturing sectors.What will set you apart:Practical knowledge of steel fabrication, construction, or modular buildingConfidence managing budgets, reporting, and commercial targetsA track record of leading teams and developing peopleFamiliarity with supply chains, safety frameworks, and compliance expectationsA collaborative approach, cultural sensitivity, and strong interpersonal skillsStrategic thinking backed by a hands-on, solution-driven mindsetYoure a practical, people-first leader with strong commercial acumen and cross-cultural awareness.
