Additional roles may include Lifestyle, Personal Care Worker and/or Catering Assistant.Purpose driven organisation.About The RoleIn this multi-skilled role, you''ll be an integral part of our team, assisting with kitchen, laundry, and general cleaning duties in line with infection control and safety standards for aged care homes. Youll help create a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for our residents, operating equipment safely and following scheduled tasks with care and attention to detail. A positive can-do attitude and the ability to work well in a team are essential to delivering these vital services.Some Responsibilities May Include, But Are Not Limited ToAssisting in the kitchen with meal preparation, plating, and dishwashingCompleting laundry tasks including washing, drying, folding, and distributionCleaning resident rooms, bathrooms, and communal areas to the highest standardFollowing cleaning and laundry schedules, and completing associated documentationCommunicating and coordinating with other team members to meet residents needsMonitoring stock levels for supplies and assisting with ordering and record keepingFollowing all Workplace Health and Safety & Infection Control procedures at all timesWhat you will bring to the rolePrevious experience in kitchen hand, laundry, or cleaning roles (aged care experience desirable)Knowledge of safe chemical handling and cleaning practicesA caring nature, and compassion and empathy for the elderlyStrong time management, communication skills, and a team-focused attitudeFlexibility to work across various shifts, including weekendsWho is Southern Cross Care Queensland?Southern Cross Care Queensland (SCCQ) is a Catholic not-for-profit organisation established by the Knights of the Southern Cross, more than 40 years ago.
