The team services a diverse client base of Fortune Global 500 companies, SMEs, public sector research organisations, foreign associates and local clients.Spruson & Ferguson is a subsidiary of IPH Limited, the first IP services group to list on the ASX.About the RoleSpruson & Ferguson is seeking an experienced and motivated Legal Secretary to join our dynamic Legal team on a 13-month fixed-term, part-time basis (0.6 FTE). Based in our Sydney office, this role will provide high-level, confidential support to our Principals and play a key role in ensuring the smooth operation of our legal practice.This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a fast-paced, professional environment where your skills and initiative will be valued. You''ll be contributing to a highly respected firm known for its expertise and client focus across the IP and legal landscape.Manage legal files from creation to closure, including conflict checks, updates, archiving, and document controlCoordinate authors calendars and deadlines to ensure efficient workflow and timely deliverySupport the development and maintenance of authors practices with a focus on high-quality client servicePrepare, proofread, and format legal documents and correspondence to a professional standardConduct legal research and searches (e.g. ASIC) as requiredLiaise professionally with clients, barristers, expert witnesses, opposing solicitors, and associates on behalf of authorsAssist with WIP, billing, and debtor managementHandle general administrative tasks including filing, photocopying, data entry, and expense processing (via Concur, if applicable)Organise business travel arrangements and itineraries (local and international)Provide basic paralegal support, including document collation and court bundle preparationOffer team support during peak periods or staff absencesPerform other duties as reasonably required by Spruson & FergusonAbout YouMinimum 1 year in a Secretary or similar role within legal, intellectual property, or professional servicesProficient in Microsoft Office (particularly Word and Outlook)Tech-savvy with the ability to quickly learn new systems and processesStrong attention to detail and high accuracyExcellent time management and organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise under pressureClear and confident communication skills both written and verbalReliable, proactive, and self-motivatedEager to learn and grow professionallyStrong problem-solving abilityTeam-oriented with the ability to work independently and collaboratively to achieve high-quality outcomesWhy Us?Spruson & Ferguson offers a wide range of benefits aimed at supporting our employees ongoing development, including but not limited to:A flexible work environment including working from home;A supportive team-based environment with learning and development opportunities;Health and well-being programs; andPaid parental leave for all genders.Spruson & Ferguson is committed to promoting and maintaining a workplace culture of shared respect to enable us all to feel valued and be the best we can be.How to ApplyWe encourage applications from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and individuals from diverse backgrounds.
