The Guardian also provides advocacy on behalf of clients, ensuring their rights, interests, views, wishes, and preferences are prioritized in all decision-making and advocacy activities.About The Office Of The Public GuardianThe Office of the Public Guardian (OPG) is an independent statutory office dedicated to protecting the rights, interests, and wellbeing of adults with impaired decision-making capacity, children and young people in the child protection system, and individuals in disability services, mental health services, residential health services, and youth detention centers.Key responsibilitiesUndertake structured decision-making under supervision for adults with impaired capacity, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation such as the Guardianship and Administration Act 2000, Powers of Attorney Act 1998, Public Guardian Act 2014, and Disability Services Act 2006.Advocate for guardianship clients to ensure their views, wishes, and preferences are central to all decisions.Collaborate effectively with team members and support colleagues to deliver quality client services.Maintain positive relationships with clients, families, service providers, advocates, government agencies, and stakeholders.Liaise with the Queensland Civil and Administrative Tribunal (QCAT) registry and appear before the Tribunal as needed.Provide professional advice and support to the Public Guardian and her delegates, especially regarding positive behavior support and restrictive practices.Ensure all client-related documentation and guardianship activities are accurately recorded and maintained, including reports and visit notes.Mandatory Qualifications, Conditions, and RequirementsA C class drivers license is mandatory, as travel to various locations is required.Applications remain current for 12 months.Occupational group: Community CareSeniority level: Not ApplicableEmployment type: Full-timeJob function: OtherIndustries: Government Administration #J-18808-Ljbffr
