Our reputation for solving complex problems means we need a driven leader to join our growing Sydney team.About the role:Leading a line of business, and team of consultants in the occupational hygiene, hazardous building materials and environmental consulting part of the business. In this role you will have full autonomy and accountability for the success of this line of business. You will be rewarded by the success of the line of business over time and be supported in your role by leaders of other service lines across the business.The existing team is well functioning, has a strong pipeline of work, and is looking for a leader that can springboard it to the next level of market growth.The right candidate based in Melbourne or Brisbane may also be considered. If interested in these alternative geographical options - please flag that in a message directly via LinkedIn or email per below.In this leadership, business development and account management role, your responsibilities will include:Building new business and winning new workManaging a team of consultantsManaging the systems and processes for this service lineProviding clients with services in the areas of occupational hygiene, asbestos, hazardous materials, and environmentLeading and delivering projects which provide clients with technical advice, assessments, inspections, audits, training, workshops, investigations, analysis, and reports on occupational hygiene, hazardous materials, and environmentConducting and supervising sampling and field workDelivering client reports and participating in Work Science quality assurance processesProviding leadership and support to team members, especially in the occupational hygiene, hazardous materials and environment service lineDesigning and delivering high-quality assignments and engagementsConducting quality assurance on client deliverablesOther tasks and work as required to drive successful outcomes for Work Science and our clientsAbout you:Some of the qualities that may describe you include:Growth oriented and hungry to win new businessHold a relevant undergraduate qualification (in science or business)Experience in the occupational hygiene, environmental, asbestos and/or hazardous building materials consulting industryAble to generate new business leadsAble to lead, manage, and/or supervise a teamMay be a NATA analyst and/or signatoryMay be a Licensed Asbestos AssessorMay be a Certified Occupational HygienistDesirable Qualifications and experienceDegree level qualification in a relevant fieldExperience in hazardous materials, hygiene or related field8 - 12 years experience delighting your clients, colleagues and onlookers in a consulting or professional services role5+ years experience leading othersSkills and capabilitiesTeam leader, ensures high performance and achievement of team members, driving the delivery of high quality work for clientsManaging resources, including staff time, against quoted budgets and proposalsTenacious, resourceful and willing to work outside comfort zones to learn and growExcellent technical writing and systems documentation skills with excellent attention to detailExcellent verbal communication and presentation skills, both internally and client-facingStrong Microsoft Office skills, especially Word and ExcelCurious, inquisitive, adaptable to change and capable to thrive in a commercial consulting environmentPragmatic problem solverWhat''s in it for you?In this role, you will:Make a meaningful impact that leads to real change in our client organisations.Develop your strengths as a leader in hazardous materials, hygiene and environmental services.Have the autonomy to drive exceptional outcomes.Collaborate with other teams and service lines to drive organisational success.Collaborate with outstanding individuals both within our team and in client organisations.Enjoy competitive compensation tied to your commercial success.Benefit from the support of a seasoned and successful leadership team.Be encouraged to explore new opportunities which will drive value for our clients.Work Science''s diverse team is a core strength we are determined to maintain and enhance.
