As an AI Engineer at Protecht, your mission is to redefine how organizations manage risk by embedding intelligent, autonomous, and conversational AI capabilities into our enterprise platform, Protecht.ERM.You will play a pivotal role in designing and delivering next-generation AI features that empower users to make smarter, faster, and safer decisions.Located in our central Sydney office (hybrid work from home option available) and reporting to our Head of Business Delivery you will drive the delivery of AI projects across the business.What You''ll DoCollaborate with product managers, analysts, and engineers to define and deliver impactful AI use casesArchitect and implement scalable Generative AI features, including agentic workflows, conversational AI, and autonomous agentsIntegrate AI into our enterprise stack using ReactJS (frontend) and Java (backend)Leverage AWS Bedrock services (Agents, Flows, Knowledge Bases, Guardrails, etc.) to build secure and compliant AI solutionsApply best practices in AI security, including mitigation of hallucinations, prompt injection, and biasMentor engineers and champion excellence in AI developmentConduct code reviews, troubleshoot complex issues, and ensure high-quality, maintainable codeWhat Youll Bring2+ years of hands-on experience in Generative AI and Agentic AI development5+ years in commercial SaaS product development using Java, ReactJS, and modern databasesDeep knowledge of RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation), vector databases, and custom embeddingsProficiency in prompt engineering, benchmarking, and AI performance optimizationStrong understanding of AI ethics, governance, and security risks in enterprise environmentsExperience with LangChain, OpenAI APIs, or similar LLM frameworks (highly desirable)Familiarity with Spring Framework, Microservices, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelinesExcellent communication skills and a collaborative mindsetExperience with Bitbucket, DevOps, and cloud infrastructurePassion for solving complex problems and driving innovation in AITertiary qualifications in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related fieldsWhy Protecht?At Protecht, a positive and super friendly culture awaits you, where learning is valued and supported.
