This is a critical position on the technical design team that provides landscape architectural services across a broad spectrum of landscape types and locations.Duties and ResponsibilitiesProduce landscape architectural works (drawings, graphics, presentations, reports, etc.)Lead quality control in terms of drawing review and mentoring of intermediate and junior landscape design staffWork on place-based design and sustainable site design (including nature-based solutions)Creation and/or review of landscape specifications and related contract documentsOn-site contract administration related to landscape architectural servicesPrepare formal meeting notes and minutes as neededSupport senior management in tasks related to invoicing for services rendered, as well as support for community and stakeholder engagementPlan and facilitate design workshops, focus groups, open houses etc.Create presentations for projects at engagement meetings and eventsContribute to the writing of proposals (including fee estimates)Represent SpruceLab as needed (e.g. public meetings/talks related to landscape architects projects at an intermediate level)Collaborate with colleagues to support partners, including not-for-profitsSupport senior management in the search for new projects and clientsHelp implement SpruceLab communications and marketing effortsSkills and QualificationsStrong communication abilities as well as critical thinking skillsMotivated commitment to sustainabilityExperience or an interest in working with Indigenous Peoples is considered an asset.Minimum 10-15 years producing landscape architectural drawings from concept phase to contract administration (including construction experience) is required.In general, willingness to travel to support projects is required.Professional education in landscape architectural technology or landscape architecture is required.Experience drafting with Vectorworks Landmark (drawing plans, sections) is preferred.Those interested in applying for the role of Intermediate Landscape Architect at SpruceLab, please send a cover letter expressing your interest in this position, a CV and a select portfolio that shows a range of design experiences (with references) toevette@e-suite.caWe rely on advertising revenue to support the creative content on our site.
