This position is part of the Formas-financed project FRESH: Future REgenerative production for Sustainable Housing and buildings. The successful applicant will join the Division of Building Design, engaging in interdisciplinary research aimed at promoting sustainability, circularity, and resource efficiency in Swedens built environment.Key Responsibilities Develop an ontology of regenerative building production by analyzing the impacts of regeneration on on-site practices, economic structures, and business models. Explore technical, managerial, and on-site innovations and tools to contextualize regenerative practices within Sweden. Conduct action research and case studies at construction sites to implement research findings. Collaborate with diverse stakeholders, including clients, contractors, policymakers, and users, as well as another PhD student within the FRESH project. Participate in the Graduate School of Civil and Environmental Engineering and contribute to scientific publications, conferences, and reporting to industry and academic forums.Requirements Masters degree (minimum 240 ECTS) in civil engineering, building production, construction management, or related fields (including sustainability and circularity in construction), or in business, management, or social sciences with experience in the construction sector. Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English. Strong teamwork and project management abilities.Desirable Qualifications Experience in implementing sustainability and circularity within the built environment, particularly in construction processes, policies, or material flows. Familiarity with research or practice in building production methods, circular business models, and sustainability transitions. Experience with qualitative and quantitative research methods, action research, and case studies. Knowledge of the Swedish construction industry and proficiency in Swedish (advantageous but not required).
