Your Position at St John of God Bendigo Hospital You will work as a team member of the Patient Services Admissions Department and will be responsible for acting as the key contact point for patients, clinicians, managers, and health funds regarding a patients pre-admission, admission, discharge, billing, and debtors follow-up. The Position Informing all patients of their out-of-pocket costs of hospitalisation. Liaising with medical receptionists in doctors'' rooms for item numbers as required. Quoting all uninsured patients their cost of hospitalisation (refer to doctors'' rooms). Liaising with patients who have queries about their coverage at the admission centre, over the phone, or on the ward. Establishing patient level of cover with Health Funds prior to admission. Responding to patient queries regarding their level of cover and out-of-pocket expenses. Performing other reasonable duties as directed by the relevant manager or supervisor, including assisting with tasks within Patient Administration Services. You should have proficient knowledge of the health industry, health funds, and possess sound interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with hospital colleagues, patients, families, medical staff, and the public. To succeed, demonstrate computer literacy, clerical experience, and the ability to prioritize and multitask effectively.
