Reporting to the CTO, this pivotal role is accountable for building, growing, and ensuring the commercial success of CSO Groups Advisory business.This is your opportunity to define the vision, build and lead a talented national team, shape strategic offerings, and deliver exceptional outcomes for clients with the full backing of our executive team and a business thats ready to scale.Key responsibilitiesThe role of General Manager - Advisory blends leadership, strategy, execution, and customer impact. Youll:Establish and grow CSOs advisory capability, aligned to our mission and business strategy.Drive cultural, structural, and operational maturity within the function.Build, lead, and mentor a team of senior consultants. Develop a high-performance, high-trust culture, and champion continuous improvement.Partner with Sales to identify, shape, and win new opportunities. Generate business through your network and market reputation.Contribute to the creation of CSOs strategic advisory intellectual property, methodologies, and delivery frameworks.Design, refine, and deliver scalable, repeatable consulting offerings across cyber strategy, GRC, architecture, and emerging areas such as AI.Oversee engagement resourcing, scoping, and delivery.Engage closely with other CSO delivery teams, leveraging broader capabilities to deliver holistic solutions for customersImplement quality assurance processes, gather customer feedback, and drive continual improvement.Act as a trusted advisor and executive sponsor bringing thought leadership, pragmatism, and value articulation to customer engagements, ensuring exceptional outcomes and building lasting relationships with executive stakeholders.Proactively manage consultant utilisation, resourcing, and pipeline forecasting to ensure commercial success and efficiency.What You BringYou are an accomplished consulting leader with a proven track record in building and growing advisory practices. Specifically, youll demonstrate:7+ years experience in a senior leadership role within a professional services, consulting, or advisory organisation (cybersecurity or ICT domain strongly preferred).Deep consulting skillset in strategy development, stakeholder engagement, problem-solving, influence, and value articulation.Strong commercial acumen understanding pipeline, utilisation, margin, and building a sustainable P&L.Established network of enterprise and/or government relationships within Australia.Demonstrated ability to lead high-performing consulting teams and coach others to success.Collaborative, adaptive mindset with exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills.Qualifications and ClearancesBachelors degree in Information Technology, Business, Cybersecurity, or related field.Preferred: MBA or postgraduate qualification in business/leadership/strategy.Certifications such as CISM, CISSP, SABSA, TOGAF, ISO 27001 highly regarded.Whilst certifications are preferred, we appreciate leadership and consulting acumen is developed over experience.
