With a focus on teamwork and personal development, this position offers a chance to make a meaningful impact in the lives of our patrons.Position OverviewIn this role, you will play a pivotal role in promoting and ensuring public safety across our multiple leisure centres including the Sutherland Leisure Centre, Caringbah Leisure Centre, Engadine Leisure Centre, and Como Pool. You will respond to emergencies, supervise activities, and maintain hygiene standards while providing excellent customer service.Ensure the safety and well-being of all pool visitors.Ensure safety regulations are met.Respond to emergency situations remaining calm and professional.Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in all areas of the pool facilities.Who Were Looking ForWe are looking for individuals who are self-motivated, reliable, and enthusiastic, with a strong focus on achieving safety and service excellence.If you hold the following credentials and qualities, wed love to hear from you:Pool Lifeguard Licence (RLSS).Pool Operations Certificate, desirable but not mandatory.First Aid Certificate and CPR.Valid NSW Working With Children Check.Understanding of hygiene practices and general facility upkeep.A positive attitude and the ability to connect with the public.Join our Team and Grow with Us!If you are ready to take on a challenging and rewarding role that makes a real difference in the community, apply now to join our team at Sutherland Shire Council!Apply by responding to our online application questions and submitting your resume outlining why we are a great fit!Get your application in by 11.59pm: Monday 21st July 2025.Interview date: Interviews will be facilitated within two weeks of closing.Package: $58,545 - $61,927 (full time equivalent) gross p.a. plus 12% superannuation.Hours of work: Both Temporary Seasonal and Permanent part time position available from 6 hours - 16 hours per week. Temporary opportunities expected to be from September 2025 - April 2026. Opportunity for additional flex hours may arise to assist operational coverage.
