The department facilitates quality, compliant, sustainable development across the LGA ranging from established urban areas, through to urban renewal activity centres, future growth areas and environmental sensitive significant areas.The team is filled with talented and passionate individuals who are committed to working together and with the business to achieve its goals and objectives. Our goal is to be the best at what we do and ensure Council is a great place to work.About The Opportunity And What We Can Offer YouAn exciting opportunity has become available for a Senior Landscape & Arboriculture Assessment Officer to join our dynamic and innovative Development and Building team within our Development Advisory Services department. Together with our Development and Building team, the successful candidate will ensure that development occurs in a way that is consistent with the objectives of the Georges River Council Management Plan, Councils planning instruments, codes and policies.In this role you will provide technical input to all development types, to the assessment and certification processes, specifically with respect to all Arboriculture and Landscape issues associated with development. You will have regard to the potential impacts on natural, built, and social environment and ensuring the development integrates with the public asset.Permanent, Full TimeSalary range $110,031.86 - $127,488.43 per annum plus 11.5% superannuation9-day fortnight (dependent on operational requirements)Flexible start and finish timesAdditional Health and Wellbeing paid leaveFitness Passport Program offering discounted membership for you and your family to selected facilitiesEmployee Assistance ProgramSalary Packaging OptionsSponsored Study ProgramParental Leave and SupportEmployee Rewards ProgramOngoing Education and ResourcesKnowledge, Skills And QualificationsTertiary qualifications in Arboriculture (AQF Level 5).Current NSW Class C Driver Licence.Intermediate to advanced knowledge and experience in the use of MS Office platforms including Excel, Word and Outlook.Understanding of Landscape, Arboriculture, Biodiversity, Bushland, heat islands, climate change matters risk management principles and processes.Well-developed verbal and written communication skills.Ability to work as part of a team.Knowledge of Equal Employment Opportunity and Work Health and Safety Principles.Advanced problem solving and identification of solutions in the context of the assessment of development proposals.If you have made a positive commitment to further your career and you possess the attributes located in the Position Description essential criteria, then please submit your application today.
