In this varied and challenging role, youll work in our intensive youth mentoring programs in the beautiful Kimberley town of Kununurra. From our programs to our support services - this is the place to realise your purpose.A place to make a difference:In this full time, maximum term role (to June 2027, with potential for permanency), based in Kununurra, youll work in partnership with local youth justice stakeholders to support young offenders aged 10-18, with the aim of reducing re-offending. As part of our Kununurra Case Work Team, youll report to our Team Leader.You will make a difference by:Engaging and building rapport with at-risk children, young people, families and community membersSupporting young people to increase safety, positive community engagement, life skills and cultural connectionProviding practical support, mentoring and advocacy for young people and their families (as required) with complex needsCollaborating with government and non-government services to work towards common goalsA place to feel valued:Youre a highly flexible youth worker who is calm under pressure and loves to have a positive impact when working with traumatised youth. You have plenty of energy and a can-do attitude, which will help you make long-lasting relationships with disengaged youth and their families. Youre resilient, not afraid of a challenge, and importantly youre comfortable working in remote and rural settings .This role requires:Demonstrated skills and experience in working with young people, in particular Aboriginal young peopleDemonstrated experience in case managementA minimum of a Diploma in Youth Work, Psychology, Social Work (or a related field), or significant equivalent experienceDrivers licenceA place to belong:At 54 reasons, we invest in the development and wellbeing of our people.
