Job Description

Complex Care is a Brisbane-based practice that provides therapeutic support and consultancy services specifically tailored to children with complex needs and the carers/professionals who support them. In addition to providing children and young people with counselling, Complex Care trains and supports organisations, families, and carers to provide our community''s most vulnerable children and young people with evidence-based therapeutic care. Job Description Complex Care is currently looking for new consultants to join our team, providing in-home therapeutic placement support to children on child protection orders with complex support needs. Consultants may also provide specialist services to children receiving NDIS funding, including counselling, assessment recommendations, training, or specialist behaviour support. This specialist role involves providing intensive training and support to foster carers, parents, or a young person''s care team. Consultants will work in close collaboration with the Department of Communities (Child Safety) and other relevant stakeholders. Depending on experience, there may be opportunities to facilitate Family Group Meetings and Case Clinics. This position offers casual ongoing contract work with flexible hours from 15 hours per week up to full-time. Consultants will be contracted at a minimum rate of $85.00 per hour (inclusive of superannuation). Most client visits will last for a minimum of 2-3 hours. Consultants must invoice using their own ABN. While this is a contracted role, Complex Care invests in our team through ongoing training, professional development, clinical advice, supervision, and support. Applicants will require at minimum: Tertiary qualification in Psychology, Social Work, Counselling, or a related field. Registration as a Psychologist or Social Worker is advantageous. Previous experience working in the Child Protection System is advantageous. At least 3 years of relevant post-graduate experience, including counselling with children and adults with complex needs, and a good understanding of the child protection/out-of-home care system. Strong report writing, communication, and assessment skills, with confidence in providing guidance and recommendations to stakeholders. A current Queensland Driver''s License and a reliable vehicle. A current Blue Card. Travel Consultants will use their own vehicle for travel and will receive an additional minimum session fuel/travel allowance of $80 per visit per client.
