The OpportunityWe require x2 casual skilled and safety-focused Vac Truck Plant Operators to join our Transport sector. This role involves the safe and efficient operation of a variety of specialised plant and equipment, including vacuum units, street sweepers, wall washers, and associated machinery, in line with current government legislation and company policies and procedures.What We OfferCompetitive hourly rate plus meal allowancesApproximately 15 shifts per month, with 12 months of roster visibilityPrimarily night shifts from Sunday through ThursdayPotential opportunity for a permanent position in the near futureAn easy going, supportive and collaborative teamAccess to exclusive Ventia employee benefits, including discounted private health insurance, Paid parental leave, Discounted travel and moreKey ResponsibilitiesOperate specialised mobile plant and equipment safely and professionallyParticipate in pre-job hazard assessments and inspections before commencing workSecure hoses, chemical pails, and other equipment properly during transportLoad, transport, and offload materials across various job sitesComplete shift reports and other job-related documentation accuratelySafely drive and operate trucks and traffic management vehicles (where licensed)Perform routine equipment maintenance, such as changing broom headsSupport the Civil and Incident Response teams when requiredAssist in traffic control setup and implementation as neededCarry out routine site maintenance and cleaning tasks as directedTravel (within Sydney) as needed and manage time effectivelyAbout YouHold a valid HR drivers licenceWhite Card (General Construction Induction)Experience operating vacuum units (preferred)Yellow Traffic Ticket Implement Traffic Management Plan (advantageous)Confined Space and Working at Heights certifications (advantageous)Proven ability to manage a varied workload and multitask under pressureStrong communication skills and effective problem-solving skillsBasic computer proficiency (email, Microsoft Word, Excel)Sound understanding of WHS, risk management, and hazard identificationWillingness to work overtime when requiredAbout VentiaVentia is a leading infrastructure services company, operating across Australia and New Zealand.
