We''re looking for practically minded, quick learners who thrive in a fast-paced environment to join our team.Shifts Available: Day Shift 6:00 AM - 2:23PM / Monday to Friday (Full-time)Rate: $26.61Location: North Richmond, NSW, AustraliaRole Purpose:The purpose / objective of this position is to assist the Gluing operator to achieve high quality results in the conversion of printed and cut finished cartons. The role will support the day-to-day delivery of production on the line in either feeding, packing or palletizing.ACCOUNTABILITIESAssist Operator with the setup of the machine to the standard required in preparation for the conversion or embellishment (make ready)Assess product for meeting quality standards, undertake quality checksAssist the Operator with the gluing machine to ensure quality and productivity requirements are metConduct routine maintenance with the operator in accordance with the Daily Equipment Care checklistReview workload with the operator to ensure all preparation work is managed in a timely manner to ensure continuous running of the machineResponsible for housekeeping within department in accordance with GMP Policy and Audits.Assist in cross training other staff where applicableCoordinate and liaise with operator to ensure jobs are preppedSKILLS:Mechanical aptitudeProblem solvingAbility to read technical drawings (Knife/Glue Line)Ability to communicate effectivelyKNOWLEDGE:Knowledge of cutting and creasingUnderstand basic machine functionUnderstand pre make ready processKnowledge of standardsKnowledge of processesEXPERIENCE:1+ years experience in a manufacturing or warehousing environment.Physically fit and able.ENVIRONMENT, HEALTH AND SAFETY:All employees must be aware and comply to all legislation and standards that impacts their work area including:Food Safety ensure compliance with all the critical control point checks for food safety or product quality checks as required under HACCP procedures including adherence to high levels of GMP/ Housekeeping; andEnvironmental compliance - Actively participate in environment improvement programs, projects and training whilst always reporting incidents or hazards to your supervisor immediately.All employees are responsible for participating in and assisting in the provision of a safe work environment for all Company employees in accordance with Work Health & Safety Act 2011 (NSW) legislation by:Demonstrating an active commitment to WHS through the wearing of PPE and housekeepingComplying with all WHS policies & procedures & Safe Operating InstructionsImmediately reporting any hazard, incident, accident or near missActively participating in the Safety Mgt Program when required, including regular trainingSmurfit Westrock is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
