Global Advisory & Markets, Corporate Advisory, ECM, Associate, Sydney location_on Sydney, NSW, AustraliaYOUR IMPACTThe Equity Capital Markets (ECM) Group within Corporate Advisory is looking for a highly skilled Associate to join our Sydney office.OUR IMPACTCorporate Advisoryworks on some of the most complex financial challenges and transactions in the market today.Our Equity Capital Markets Group works closely with public and private companies, financial sponsors,venture capital firms, and entrepreneurs to originate, structure, and execute equity financings such as initial public offerings, follow-on offerings, and block trades. The group works closely with many other areas of the firm, particularly classic corporate advisory and equity sales and trading.HOW YOU WILL FULFILL YOUR POTENTIALRole ResponsibilitiesYou will help originate, lead and execute equity capital market transactions for our corporateand financial sponsor clientsYou will develop content for meetings with clients regarding their strategy and potential capital market transactions, as well as regular market updatesYou will liaisewith multiple internal (e.g. junior and senior team members across different product groups) and external parties (e.g. client management teams, investors, lawyers) on a regular basis to execute transactions and discuss strategic alternativesYou will assist in coordinating live equity offerings, including bookbuilds and settlement / operational flowYou will complete and review the analytical work of junior team members, and provide mentorship and oversight to the junior teamYou will have to think creatively to perform investor targeting of potential institutional buyers, analyzing comparable companies and institutional cross ownershipYou will play a vital role throughout the entire transaction process, including project management for mission-critical equity financingsSKILLS & EXPERIENCE WE''RE LOOKING FORQualificationsBachelor''s degree and 2-5 years'' relevant work experience within ECM, Capital Markets, or related areaStrong interest in and understanding of equity marketsExceptional multi-tasking, time management and communication skills (both verbal and written)Highly organized with a solid work ethic, motivation level, and strong attention to detailPersonal integrity, initiative and leadership qualitiesCapacity to interact and build relationships with a wide range of people and act as a point of contactWell-rounded academic background from a top tier institutionUnderstanding of transaction cycles and the steps in the processDemonstrate maturity to work with all levels of professionals across the firm and external clientsAbility to work in a fast-paced environment and possess good judgment to make quick and complex decisionsStrong analytical skills and quantitative and technical abilitiesDrive, enthusiasm, creativity and excellent interpersonal skillsCommercially savvy with ability to exercise discretion with respect to highly confidential/sensitive informationExcellent skills in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)ABOUT GOLDMAN SACHSAt Goldman Sachs, we commit our people, capital and ideas to help our clients, shareholders and the communities we serve to grow.
