Then South Metropolitan Health Service is the perfect place to start!Fiona Stanley Hospital (FSH) is a 783-bed tertiary hospital offering a range of health services including the State Rehabilitation Service, a comprehensive cancer centre, purpose-built mental health unit, maternity, paediatric and neonatal services, and the State Adult Burns Service. FSH also delivers specialised services such as heart and lung transplantations and hyperbaric medicine.The Medihotel is an innovative approach to healthcare providing additional hospital capacity and service delivery 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Based adjacent to Fiona Stanley Hospital, the Medihotel is located in the Aegis Health Building offering a range of nursing and medical led services to patients aged 18 years and older, including support for patients who no longer require tertiary level care. You will form part of a dedicated team of clinicians working across three Medihotel wards that support general medicine covering a range of patients that may be awaiting surgery, have undergone acute treatment or are receiving routine surgeries with a ward dedicated to patients who no longer require acute medical or rehabilitative care in hospital and are awaiting placement in either respite, transitional care or residential care.SMHS delivers quality, safe and effective hospital and health services within a catchment area stretching more than 3300 square kilometres across the southern half of Perth.Our vision is Excellent health care, every time. You can read more about SMHS in our Strategic Plan here.Position Description: The Clinical Nurse Educator identifies strategies to promote and embed a learning culture that supports positive patient outcomes and delivery of a patient centred service. Collaborates with the Nurse Unit Manager in development and management or orientation and performance development programs to meet the education and training needs of nursing / midwifery staff within the unit. Collaborates with the Unit Manager to determine personal and professional competencies integral to care delivery in the local unit and required of nursing / midwifery staff. Under the directions of the Unit Manager oversees all individual staff performance appraisal and development activities within the unit. This position seeks professional guidance and professional supervision from the Nurse Director - Education.
