As our Manager Maintenance Operations Control (MOC), youll be at the centre of engineering decision-makingleading real-time operational performance, managing technical disruptions, and supporting the airworthiness of both Qantas and customer fleets.Reporting to the Head of Engineering Operations Control and leading a large technical team, this is a key leadership role responsible for delivering safe, compliant and efficient fleet support through our Maintenance Operations Control Centre. Youll manage defect rectification, fleet recovery, deferred defect oversight, delay management, and crew technical liaison.In this role, youll Provide leadership to a team of 36, including succession planning, coaching, and talent developmentOversee operational technical performance for the Qantas and customer aircraft fleetsLead a 24/7 support structure to ensure technical and maintenance decisions are informed, proactive and compliantDevelop and implement strategies for aircraft recovery, defect management and MEL/Hold oversightCoordinate with external Aircraft Maintenance Organisations (AMO), Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) and the Qantas Integrated Operations Centre (IOC)Monitor and improve AMO performance and drive continuous operational improvementsEnsure regulatory compliance in collaboration with CASA and represent Qantas during crisis management10 years of experience in aircraft engineering management (preferred)Tertiary qualifications (preferred) in Engineering or related fieldsDeep knowledge of line and base maintenance, fleet scheduling and aircraft planningStrong people leadership skills, with experience managing teams in high-pressure operational environmentsFamiliarity with CASA and international aviation regulationsStrategic thinking and change management capabilityStrong stakeholder engagement skills and commercial negotiation acumenWhy Qantas?Youll join a team where creativity and passion are encouraged.
