In 2025, BMF was appointed as Westpacs new strategic brand and creative agency.The OpportunityBMF is on the hunt for a commercially astute, proactive and strategically minded Chief Operating Officer (COO) to drive future financial performance, operational excellence, and business transformation. This is a rare opportunity to reshape how the business operates partnering closely with the Agency CEO and Enero Group CEO to deliver predictable, profitable, and scalable growth. Specifically, this new COO position encompasses both the agency CFO and Operational Leader scope of responsibilities combined into a single role.As COO, youll lead BMFs finance and operations functions, bringing a sharp focus to margin management, scalable delivery, and data-led decision-making. Youll embed systems and processes that improve visibility, accountability, and performance unlocking the next phase of growth and maturity for the agency.ResponsibilitiesStrategic & Commercial LeadershipPartner with the Agency CEO and Enero CEO to shape and deliver EBITDA and cash flow goals for FY26 budget and beyondLead financial strategy, commercial planning, and scenario modellingOptimise contracts and pricing strategies to protect marginCollaborate with other agency COOs and CFOs on group-wide transformationOperational ExcellenceWork with Agency leadership to build scalable processes leveraging technologyOversee operational compliance (timekeeping, margin controls, tech investment, freelancer management)Rationalise tech platforms and drive automation, outsourcing, and offshoring as appropriateChampion innovation in delivery, including AI adoption and delivery model designPerformance Reporting & AnalyticsLead agency-wide forecasting, budgeting, and KPI trackingAnalyse project and client profitability; implement tools for continuous improvementEmbed pricing and performance analytics to drive smarter decisionsManage financial reporting, audit, tax, and complianceLead monthly EBITDA forecastingEnsure strong cash flow forecasting and capex planningOversee WHS and regulatory responsibilities with robust governanceAbout YouExperience & QualificationsCA/CPA qualified with a proven track record in financial and operational leadershipDemonstrated success proactively leading performance improvement and transformation (systems, automation, and processes) in agency or similar professional services businessesDeep experience in agency, media, marketing, or other client-service environmentsSkilled in scaling operations and improving commercial outcomesLeadership StyleStrategic, yet hands-on: you lead from both the boardroom and the floorTech-savvy and forward-thinking keen to streamline and scale through digital toolsCommercially sharp you know how to pull the right levers for growth and marginProactive, collaborative and credible change leader: a trusted voice at the leadership tableCalm under pressure resilient, adaptive, and energised by complexitySolution focused: skilled at providing options to navigate and resolve challengesLow ego, high impact focused on making the business better, not seeking the spotlightWhy BMF?Youll join a culture that blends creative ambition with operational discipline.
