The mine is a deep, sub-level open stoping operation with complex mining conditions.The Rosebery Mine has been at the heart of the Rosebery community since 1936 and is one of Tasmanias largest and oldest continuously operating, underground mines producing zinc, copper and lead concentrates, as well as gold dor.It supports approximately 500 employees and their families, has a strong community focus and engages a wide range of local businesses from across Tasmania in its supply chain boosting the economy of the West Coast of Tasmania and beyond.The mine has a strong future, with extensive exploration activities which have continued to grow the resource and require mine planning beyond 10 years of continued operation.MMG Rosebery has an office in Burnie (Tasmania), giving employees the flexibility to work from there when they are not required onsite.We are currently recruiting Civil Crew Operators for the Mine Services Team at MMG Rosebery.The role reports to the Mine Services Supervisor and the accountabilities will include specific tasks related to your area of operation.This role is offered on 7 Days on 7 Days off Day Shift Only DIDO basis.Skills and ExperienceTo be considered for this role you will have minimum of 3 Years experience in underground mining, with a strong emphasis in a mechanised underground mining operation techniques. You will be able to demonstrate problem solving skills in a team environment. Exposure/Experience in construction of brattice & vent walls, fan installation, boxing & pouring of concrete slabs is critical to the role. Steel Set construction experience would be highly regarded.As a team member you will have the ability to communicate clearly and conduct detailed handovers with supervisors, cross shift and other relevant departments. You will also have a basic understanding of mining targets & priority projects to ensure targets are met. You will be expected to work both autonomously and in a team environment with Safety and the wellbeing of others your number one priority.About You:Ideally You will have a Trade background (Builder, Fitter, Welder) however we will consider candidates that have previous experience in underground civil or service work.An unwavering commitment to safe work practices with demonstrate safe behaviour at all times and comply with the sites standards and procedures.A willingness to work collaboratively as a team and support the Company ValuesStrong Communication SkillsPrevious underground mining experience is essential with extensive knowledge off underground mining equipment and techniques.Experience using underground heavy machineryAbility to pass a Police Clearance, Pre employment Medical and DAS.What we offerAt Rosebery, our aim is to create a workplace that encourages diversity and inclusion and supports our people to grow.
