As a Staff Platform Engineer, youll play a pivotal role in building and integrating scalable platform solutions across on-prem and multi-cloud environments. Youll be part of a crew that powers real-time payments for millions of Australians, with a strong focus on quality, automation, and operational excellence.Your Impact and ContributionReporting to the Chapter Lead, Payments Quality Engineering and Testing, youll own the end-to-end maintenance, quality testing and deployment lifecycle of payments platforms, ensuring seamless integration and delivery across environments. As such, your responsibilities may include, though not limited to;Designing, developing, and managing platform solutions that span on-prem and multi-cloud (AWS) environments.Leading CI/CD pipeline development and optimization.Implementing and managing a comprehensive test automation framework to ensure rigorous quality assurance across payment platforms.Building and maintaining ephemeral environments for testing and development, enabling rapid iterative development and testing cycles.Automating operational tasks using scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash).Integrating observability tools to enhance system visibility and reliability.Managing the full DevOps lifecycle, from build to release, with a focus on security, scalability, and performance.Collaborating with cross-functional squads to drive continuous improvement and innovation.Your Skills and ExperienceProven experience in platform engineering, DevOps, or SRE roles within cloud environments.Strong hands-on expertise in AWS, CI/CD tooling, and scripting for automation.A deep understanding of observability practices and tools.Solid experience in end-to-end testing, including test automation and quality assurance practices, with a focus on implementing robust testing frameworks.Experience in building and managing ephemeral test environments to facilitate agile development processes.Experience managing secure deployments and infrastructure-as-code.A passion for solving complex problems and driving engineering excellence.Why Join UsWork with cutting-edge technologies and industry-leading practices.Be part of a collaborative, inclusive, and high-performing team.Access to world-class tools, learning opportunities, and career development.Competitive remuneration, bonus, and staff benefit.If you''re already part of the Commonwealth Bank Group (including Bankwest, x15ventures), you''ll need to apply through Sidekick to submit a valid application.
