Were seeking an experienced Fire Systems Electrical Technician to join our team at Port Hedland on an even-time 7 days on / 7 days off roster.In this role, youll play a critical part in maintaining the safety and operational readiness of our site. Youll work across a wide range of essential fire systems and electrical equipment, ensuring compliance, reliability, and rapid response capability.Key ResponsibilitiesMaintain Systems & Records: Ensure service records and asset databases are accurate, up-to-date, and fully compliant with regulatory and operational standards.Plan & Coordinate Maintenance: Work closely with planners, supervisors, and key stakeholders to schedule and complete servicing and repairs efficientlyminimizing downtime and ensuring seamless compliance.Support & Develop Team Capability: Provide training and knowledge sharing to ensure consistent coverage during periods of leave or unplanned absence, fostering a strong cross-functional team.Conduct Site Audits: Carry out regular audits to assess system integrity, identify risks, and maintain operational excellence across all systems.Reporting & Documentation: Prepare clear, detailed reports related to servicing, repairs, and operational performance, ensuring all stakeholders have the right information to act.Fault Investigation & Liaison: Collaborate with site personnel to promptly identify, troubleshoot, and resolve faults or system defects, ensuring minimal disruption.Drive Continuous Improvement: Provide expert recommendations for system upgrades, process enhancements, and technology improvements to support ongoing operational excellenceQualifications and ExperienceProven experience in testing, inspecting, and maintaining fire protection systems in line with AS1851-2012, including:Fire ExtinguishersHydrants & Hose ReelsSprinklers & Deluge SystemsFire BlanketsHands-on capability in the inspection, servicing, troubleshooting, and repair of fire pumps.Current Certificate II in Fire Asset Management or equivalent licensing.Solid documentation and reporting skills, with competency in MS Office; experience with SAP highly regarded.Familiarity and confidence in operating and troubleshooting fire detection panels.A strong eye for detail and a proactive approach to safety.Confidence working independently and as part of a collaborative maintenance team.Our CommitmentFortescue celebrates individual strengths and team members are encouraged to bring their whole selves to work.
