Senior Advisor (GIPA), Ongoing and Temporary positions available, based in Sydney CBD + hybrid working options availableRole: Senior Advisor, GIPALocation:Sydney CBD (Haymarket), hybrid working options availableGrade:Clerk Grade 9/10Salary Range:$129,464 - $142,665+ super, commensurate with experienceEmployment Type:Multiple full time opportunities available -ongoing and 12 month temporary.The Department of Customer Service (DCS) Government Information (Public Access) (GIPA) team sits within DCS Legal Division and is the delivery team for DCS administration of the Government Information (Public Access) Act 2009 (GIPA Act); overseeing the review, assessment, protection and release of information made under the GIPA Act and Privacy and Health legislation, to ensure the Departments compliance and effective service delivery.An exciting opportunity for a Senior Advisor, GIPA (Grade 9/10) has become available to join the DCS GIPA team working in an interesting and fast paced regulatory environment, joining a passionate, motivated, and engaged group of professionals. This is a great opportunity to work across the department to provide specialist GIPA advice and services to support DCS in meeting its compliance obligations under the GIPA Act.Remuneration of $129,464 - $142,665+super & leave loading, commensurate with experience.Based in Sydney CBD (Haymarket) with flexible arrangements available.A talent pool may be created for future opportunities.The person in this role will need to:Manage and make decisions on complex, sensitive and non-routine GIPA applications and internal reviews to meet statutory timeframes and ensure compliance with the terms of the GIPA Act.Manage the day-to-day aspects of the departments statutory and operational responsibilities under relevant legislation, frameworks and policies relating to the release of government information to facilitate optimal service delivery.Provide leadership and technical guidance and subject matter expertise to staff on GIPA matters to build capability and ensure compliance with the GIPA Act.Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including the NSW Information and Privacy Commission (IPC), to support risk-based decision making and foster continuous improvement.About youAs our ideal candidate youAre a motivated self-starter who will take initiative through a can-do attitude with an ability to work autonomously taking accountability for work outputs with minimal supervision.Bring a high level of attention to detail and accuracy to your work, managing multiple deadlines in accordance with agreed standards and milestones and the need to maintain confidentiality and act with discretion.Bring a strong customer focus to all aspects of the role possessing strong negotiation, advocacy and stakeholder management capability. You are a motivated and effective communicator with great initiative, who can work with diverse clients and internal and external stakeholders and provide mentorship to junior team members.Have strong analytical ability, lateral thinking and problem-solving skills exercising sound judgement, sensitivity and confidentiality in a diverse function and a high volume, complex and changing work environment.
