This role reports to management based in Singapore and requires a high degree of autonomy. An excellent judgment and a commercial, business-oriented mindset are essential to provide sound and efficient advice to our platform leaders and functional teams.Our lawyers typically manage their assignments independently, liaising directly with relevant business personnel and handling their own drafting. When working with external law firms, this position will supervise those firms effectively.Key responsibilities will include but are not limited to:Review, draft, and advise on all legal issues facing the Australian platforms, including commercial contracts (confidentiality, agency, consultancy, property leases, trading, warehousing, logistics, procurement, offtake agreements, and sale and purchase contracts for various commodities), HR issues, company policies, and other legal matters.Provide ad hoc day-to-day legal advice to the platforms and management.Work closely with LDCs SSEA regional legal team, managing legal aspects of Australian M&A projects, including asset or entity acquisitions/disposals, and joint ventures, including legal advice, negotiations, and review of transaction documents.Oversee corporate secretarial matters in partnership with our regional corporate group.Collaborate with senior country and regional management, legal department leadership, and key stakeholders to deliver high-quality legal services, ensure legal compliance, and safeguard against reputational risks.Advise boards and management on corporate governance issues.Manage the use of external law firms and related costs in partnership with LDCs regional and global legal teams.Experience and Qualifications:Minimum 8 years PQE gained in a recognized law firm or an agricultural, food, or commodity company.Proven experience managing multiple projects simultaneously.Experience negotiating with diverse stakeholders, both locally and internationally.Law degree and admission to practice law in any Australian state.Additional InformationDiversity & InclusionLDC values diversity and inclusion as part of our core principles.
