Our Role:The HSEA Specialist works with site leadership, and regional Managers to drive improved HSE performance. HSEA Specialists are responsible for stewarding the implementation of all site environmental, health and safety activities in line with Graymont, regulatory and statutory requirements and serve as local process owners for these areas of responsibility. The Administration function is responsible for the management of site administration in line with Graymonts systems and policies, supporting the site leadership team and completing other general administration duties.Key focus areas the role will include:Way of WorkingFoster the Graymont workplace culture and emphasise the importance of pursing world class performance in the areas of safety, environmental and quality performance.Engage in effective collaboration and teamwork to implement and provide the right training, information and support to enable site leaders to meet their health, safety, environmental and quality accountabilities.Communicate effectively with appropriate internal and external stakeholders.Serve as role model in demonstrating care for others, safety, environment and quality outcomes.All AreasInfluencing employees and supervisors to take responsibility for their behaviours.Support the development and implementation of relevant metrics & holding of performance coaching conversations.Implement systems and tools to ensure compliance with health and safety, environment and quality standards.Engaging with operational staff and people leaders to ensure understanding and use of required systems and tools.Reporting and investigating health, safety, environment, quality and community incidents and making recommendations for the prevention of reoccurrence and continuous improvement.Participating in internal and external audits with the Site Manager and overseeing corrective actions arising from identified deficiencies.Driving and participating in the continuous improvement of processes and outcomes.Project management support as required.Admin AssistantGreet visitors and contractors and ensure they sign the visitor book in and out . Ensure visitors and contractors are wearing appropriate PPE, check have completed relevant safety inductions, completed key risk statements and have valid competencies prior to being given security and site access. Works with accounts payable to action overdue orders/accounts and incorrectly/incompletely coded requisitions and orders (TAPS).General reception and clerical duties include answering and diverting incoming calls.Send and receive post and courier deliveries.Complete weighbridge/despatch responsibilities as required.Complete export in weighbridge and assist drivers when required.Assist with the document control of site administration including archiving of records under the direction of the Plant Manager.Restrict access to the office area to Graymont and other authorised personnel and maintain document confidentiality.Attend and document meetings as required.Perform other duties as required by the Plant Manager and site leadership team.Recommend and facilitate the continuous improvement of administrative processes.Participate in continuous learning to develop new skills as required.Health & SafetyPromote health and safety responsibility across the site, ensure employee and contractor adherence to regulatory and Graymont health and safety requirements, including:Facilitating safety risk management including helping others to identify hazards, assess risks, implement controls, maintain housekeeping standards and ensuring actions are taken to address any gaps.Keeping abreast of the latest PPE technology and ensuring staff have access to appropriate PPE.Running incident and action management, making recommendations and driving completion of associated corrective actions.Coordinating the reviews of site safety procedures and controlled documents as required.Facilitating injury management, medical surveillance and return to work programs and responding to work cover investigationsEnvironmentPromote environmental responsibility across the site, ensure site adherence to regulatory and Graymont environmental requirements, and ensure positive community engagement, including:Facilitating environmental risk management including helping others to identify issues, assess risks, implement controls, maintain housekeeping standards and ensuring actions are taken to address any gaps.Ensuring site environmental licenses and permits are in place and renewed in time, with support from HSE Manager where needed.Conducting environmental audits and regular sampling/monitoring such as water, noise, and dust monitoring.Ensuring completion of periodic statutory reporting, to be reviewed by HSE Manager prior to submission.Coordinating response to stakeholder complaints and ensuring associated corrective actions are completed within required timeframes.Developing and coordinating site rehabilitation.Supporting stakeholder engagement activities, including community meetings, sponsorships, and site involvement in community initiatives and events.Supporting the site manager to proactively engage with regulators, local Council, neighbours and other key stakeholders in line with Graymont values.Ideally, the successful candidate will have the following attributes and qualifications:Essential CredentialsNationally recognized qualifications in Workplace Health & Safety and/or Environment and/or Quality Management or equivalent qualification and/or 3 years relevant experience.Demonstrated examples of effective relationship building skills at all levels, partnering with operational leadership, communicating relevant information and training others.Demonstrated use of effective persuading and influencing skills to positively impact achievement of role requirements and organizational objectives.
