Team Leader Development & Landscape AssessmentsSalary $127,037.56 to $147,362.80 p/a + superPermanent full time position 35 hours per weekAccess to private use of a vehicle through Councils Private Leaseback SchemeAbout Ku-ring-gai CouncilKu-ring-gai Council is one of Sydneys most environmentally significant local government areas, home to stunning bushland, vibrant communities and a strong commitment to sustainability.We are currently seeking an experienced and passionate Team Leader Development & Landscape Assessments to lead a high-performing team overseeing the assessment of landscape, tree and ecological components of development applications.Reporting to the Manager Development Assessment Services, your duties will include, but are not limited to:Lead and mentor a multidisciplinary team of landscape and environmental professionalsOversee assessment and reporting of landscape, tree and ecological impacts of development applicationsEnsure reports are thorough, compliant, and defensible in legal proceedingsLiaise with internal and external stakeholders, including Councillors, developers and the communityMonitor compliance and enforcement of conditions related to landscape and environmental mattersProvide strategic guidance and policy input to support environmentally responsible developmentDeliver on timeframes and performance targets for all referral and assessment workQualifications, Skills & ExperienceTertiary qualifications in Landscape Architecture or equivalentCurrent Class C Drivers LicenceAt least 5 years in landscape development assessmentDemonstrated experience in supervising teams and managing consultantsWorking knowledge of development control, environmental and open space conservation issuesExpert understanding of planning legislation, development control processes and environmental impact assessmentStrong knowledge of landscape and arboricultural principles, tree management and ecological assessmentHigh-level written and verbal communication skillsSkilled in conflict resolution and decision-making under pressureAbility to prepare high-quality reports and court-defensible recommendationsProficient in Microsoft Office and local government planning systemsIf youre a strong people leader with a passion for landscape architecture, environmental protection and sound planning, we invite you to apply for this opportunity.Benefits35 hour working weekWork from Home (WFH) options / Flexible Working Arrangements in line with Councils Policy and subject to approvalAccess to private use of a vehicle through Councils Private Leaseback SchemeAccess to Fitness PassportHealth & Fitness $100 yearly reimbursement (conditional)Free confidential Employee Assistance ProgramBeautiful Ku-ring-gai LocationSupportive team environmentAccess to a wide range of development and training opportunitiesFor more information on the benefits offered at Ku-ring-gai Council, please refer to our website click here.How to applyApplicants are required to address all Essential Criteria as listed within the Position Description to be eligible for an interview.Like to know more?
