This role is a 12-month contracted position.The Senior National Account Manager - Independents at SPC is a key role within the SPC sales team. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing and driving the performance of strategic account Metcash and Independents across several key categories being Prepared Meals, Canned Vegetables, Chilled Juice & Multi Serve Fruit.This role requires a dynamic and experienced professional capable of leading an account, developing robust sales strategies, consistent delivery of results and ensuring the successful execution of joint category plans. We are also looking for someone that can help contribute to the team culture and build collaborative customer and internal relationships.The role oversees the day-to-day activities of 2 x Key Account Managers and a National Account Executive.Key activities of this role include:Account Management:Take full accountability for Metcash and Independents.Develop and nurture strong relationships with key stakeholders within Metcash and Independents and internally.Own the sales delivery versus budget, implementing strategies to achieve and exceed sales targets.Team:Contribute to the team culture and help assist in the development of team members.Foster a collaborative and high-performance culture within the team.Joint Category Planning:Drive the development and execution of joint category plans in collaboration with key accounts.Ensure alignment with company objectives, market trends, and customer expectations.Work closely with cross-functional teams to bring category plans to fruition.Activation and Ranging:Oversee the implementation of planned activation strategies for promotions and marketing initiatives.Manage product ranging to maximize visibility and availability within designated accounts.Budget Management:Effectively manage account and stay within budget constraints.Monitor and analyse spend management, identifying opportunities for cost optimization.Performance Analysis:Conduct regular performance reviews and analyses to identify areas for improvement and growth.Implement corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives.Qualifications, Knowledge and Experience:Bachelor''s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field preferredProven experience in account management role within the FMCG industry, particularly with major retailers like COLES, WOOLWORTHS or METCASH.Strong leadership and team management skills.Excellent negotiation and communication abilities.Analytical mindset with the ability to translate data into actionable insights.Understanding of category management and promotional strategies.Growth mindset and strong self-awareness.Ownership of sales targets and problem solving to deliver.Outstanding relationship building skills. Able to engage and build relationships with a diverse range of key contacts across multiple levels of the industry.Excellent attention to detail and ability to maintain accuracy tin data entry and record-keeping.Proven Line Management skills with a passion for development and empowerment.Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.Process-orientated mindset with a focus on continuous improvement and efficiency.Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment as well as independently.Proficiency in using Excel and ability to learn new systems.Positive attitude with a strong willingness to learn and grow within the team and business.Our Culture:Our employees come from all walks of life, across many cultures and backgrounds.
