Were looking for a Director of Estimating to join our team in either our Brisbane, Melbourne, or Sydney office, supporting major clients across transmission, mining, oil & gas, and clean energy. This role blends traditional estimating with strategic leadership and client relationship development, offering the opportunity to shape high-impact projects and drive excellence in project delivery.What youll do:Leadership & Oversight: Lead the end-to-end estimation process for construction projects, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and alignment with project goals.Common ways of working and common data management: Drive a common way of working across our teams, including consistent capture of data to drive decision makingCost Estimation: Develop detailed cost estimates from conceptual estimating through to first principles covering materials, labour, equipment, and overheads using industry-standard tools and first principles pricing.Collaboration & Communication: Work closely with project managers, engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers to gather accurate pricing and scope data.Quality & Assurance: Lead internal and external estimate assurance reviews, due diligence, and maintain compliance with internal standards and procedures.Technical Expertise: Interpret complex project documentation, quantify from design information, and structure estimates, bills of quantities, and materials.Mentorship & Development: Provide guidance and support to junior estimators, fostering capability development within the team.Continuous improvement: Maintain and enhance the central estimating database and norms, while staying current with market trends and cost factors.QualificationsWere looking for a driven and detail-orientated professional with strong estimating experience and a collaborative mindset. The ideal candidate will bring both technical capability and leadership qualities to the role, and could be somebody in a Senior Estimator position looking to make the move up to Chief Estimator.To be successful in your application, were looking for the following:Work Rights & Location: Full current working rights for Australia.Industry Experience: Experience in a Lead/Director-level role with estimating within transmission, mining, oil & gas, clean energy, or broader natural resources sectors; consultancy background is preferred.Technical Proficiency: Skilled with Candy, Microsoft Excel, power BI and Navisworks.Attention to Detail: Demonstrated developing precision in cost estimates, technical reports, and project documentation.Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication, with the ability to produce high-quality reports and bid documents.Team & Independence: A collaborative team player who can also work autonomously and mentor junior team members.Professional Attributes: Proactive, analytics, adaptable, and resilient, with high ethical standards and a commitment to delivering value to clients.Additional InformationOur inspired people share our vision and mission.
