As an Assistant Watchhouse Officer at Rockhampton Watchhouse, you will provide basic security, administrative, and logistical services in supervising and controlling persons in custody at the Watchhouse. This supervision includes escorting prisoners to and from the Police Airwing and the local Correctional Centre. QPS operates detention facilities across the state for persons in police custody who have been denied bail, are awaiting court appearances, or are remanded or sentenced, until transfer to youth detention or correctional facilities.The core capability requirements for this role include:Perform Watchhouse functions related to the administration, supervision, and monitoring of persons in custody and visitors.Prepare and maintain prisoner files and records.Operate and monitor electronic surveillance and movement control systems following established procedures.Maintain Watchhouse records according to QPS policies and procedures.Assist in processing persons received into custody in line with QPS policies.Supervise and ensure the welfare, comfort, and security of prisoners.Record and monitor prisoners'' health requirements and coordinate medical assistance as needed.Assist senior staff with operational management issues affecting the Watchhouse.Role requirements include:Mandatory: Possession of an Open C Class Driver''s Licence.Other: Wearing the Assistant Watchhouse Officer uniform and adhering to the QPS Code of Dress and Appearance.
