The position provides an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in technical operations while undertaking formal training to develop skills in civil construction, road inspection, asset management, and project support. This is a full-time position for two (2) years. The trainee will complete the MEM30522 Certificate III in Engineering - Technical at TAFE NSW - Newcastle.Key ResponsibilitiesAssist with road and drainage asset inspections and reporting on condition and maintenance needs.Support road maintenance scheduling and the preparation of related documentation.Contribute to project planning by assisting in data gathering, site measurements, and technical input.Assist in the preparation of plans and documents such as traffic control plans and environmental documentation under supervision.Provide support to surveillance of maintenance and construction works for quality assurance and compliance.Assist with updates to Councils asset systems and technical records.Read the Position Description and learn more about this exciting opportunity.About YouHigher School Certificate or equivalent.Current Drivers Licence (minimum NSW Provisional P1 Licence or equivalent).White card - general construction induction card (or willingness to obtain).SafeWork NSW Traffic Control Work Training Card (or willingness to obtain).Eligibility to enrol in MEM30522 Certificate III in Engineering Technical.An interest in civil infrastructure, engineering, or construction.About MuswellbrookMuswellbrook Shire Council is a progressive local government area, located under two hours from Newcastle and Tamworth and three hours from Sydney, in the beautiful Upper Hunter Valley.The Shire has a long history in energy generation and is one of the largest coal mining areas in Australia.
