Mentor and develop team members to support their growth and strengthen regulatory capability across icare.Engage our regulatory stakeholders and ensure compliance: Build and maintain strong relationships with key regulators, ensuring proactive, professional, and timely responses. Lead the preparation of regulatory submissions, audits, and responses to supervision plans, collaborating closely with Legal and Compliance teams.Provide expert reporting and advice: Monitor and interpret regulatory developments, ensuring icare stays ahead of legislative changes. Support consistent and accurate regulatory reporting across the organisation and contribute to the development of effective regulatory policies and frameworks. Provide expert advice to the CEO, Executive Team, and Board on regulatory issues and emerging risks.Manage risk & contribute to our governance framework: Contribute to internal governance by participating in key committees and working groups. Ensure alignment of policies and controls with regulatory expectations. Use sound judgment under pressure to support compliance and risk mitigation.Collaborate across our organisation: Work closely with other Risk & Governance functions, the Compliance and Legal teams, and business leaders to embed a strong regulatory culture and ensure systems and procedures effectively support regulatory obligations.Skills & ExperienceTertiary qualifications in business, commerce, public policy, finance, law, economics or other relevant business discipline.At least 10+ years experience in regulatory affairs and public policy roles, ideally within government or a highly regulated financial services industry.Strong and influential written and verbal communication skills, including experience drafting formal correspondence, submissions, policy papers and board-level reports.Strategic thinker with strong leadership, collaboration and stakeholder engagement skills.Proven track record of engaging effectively at a strategic and operational level with regulators and influencing regulatory outcomes.Extensive experience building strong rapport and influence at all levels of an organisation.Well-developed understanding of enterprise risk and compliance management frameworks.Significant experience in the Australian regulatory environment.Experience in a role operating in a fast-paced environment with significant competing priorities and comfortable dealing with ambiguity, including ability to lead and operate at the same time.Demonstrated experience in leading a team of experts to ensure delivery at a strategic and operational level.A masters level degree or legal qualification is preferredCultureWe know our strength comes from the diversity of our people and would encourage people with different experiences and backgrounds to apply.
